It was the next morning when Charlie awoke, turning to Nick who was still asleep, head tucked under his chin. Charlie rubbed his arm slowly as his eyes started to open "Morning," "Morning." "How do you feel?" "Not great, still feel a bit sick." "Do you feel sick right now?" He shook his head. Charlie held him even tighter in his arms now, holding him made him feel secure and most importantly, safe. "Thank you for making me feel safe." Nick whispered, out of the quiet. Charlie sighed softly, leaning down, placing kisses along the blonde's head. His way of saying, of course, you deserve to feel safe.
Nick had been up in the night, sitting in front of the toilet from 1am till quarter to 2 "That's what we do. We love and protect each other." Charlie replied, planting one last kiss on Nick's nose, "And it's like you always tell me. Bad things have happened, and maybe those things will happen again, but we'll always have each other to help us get through it all. And always, nothing can be quite as bad since we first met." Charlie teased, and Nick let out a small giggle in agreement "What do you think would've happened if we never met?" "We wouldn't be engaged and getting married in a few months." "True, like I bet, I'd be so miserable right now, and I'll be still with Ben Hope." "I feel like if I we didn't met, I would've fallen in love with the wrong person and been outed or something at some point. I think I was sure that I was gay when I was young but I obviously wasn't ready to tell people until you and I got together. So I'm pretty sure I would've dated a bunch of terrible people or something if we'd never met. And who knows.." Nick ranted, snuggling closer to his fiancé.
Charlie kept playing with his hair until he watched him close his eyes. He watched him sleep for about 15 minutes, just to make sure he was deep in sleep before sliding out of bed, making his way downstairs.
An hour and a bit later, Nick came downstairs, curling up on the sofa. Charlie came in with his laptop "Hey," "Hey, how are you feeling?" He shook his head, grunting "What are you doing?" "Just doing a bit of coursework for Photography." "Okay." The blonde got up, walking into the kitchen where Charlie was. Nick took his laptop out of his hands, grabbing his hands "Are you feeling better?" "Yeah, thank you." Nick lifted him up on the counter and kissed him. Charlie wrapped his legs around his waist, and kissed back. Nick slid him off, carrying him over to the sofa and laid him down, climbing on top of him, deepening the kiss and pulled away a few seconds later as Charlie looked up "Should we get dressed and go on a drive?" "Sure." The two got up, walking upstairs, getting dressed.
Once they were dressed, Nick made his way downstairs, grabbing his car keys as Charlie came down with his black converses, pulling them on, tying them up, opening the door. The two got in the car as Charlie leaned his head on the window, buckling in. Nick placed his hand on his thigh as the brunette grabbed his hand, lacing their fingers together, leaning in and placed a soft kiss to his temples, bringing his hand to his dark green top from his collar, brushing a soft kiss against his fiancé's lips "I love you so much, Char, You don't even know what I'd do for you." With that, Charlie took off his shoes, curling up with his head resting on the window "I love you too, Nick." Charlie smiled as a tear ran down his face "Why are you crying?" "It's stupid." "No it isn't, is there something wrong?" "No, it's just.." He broke off with a sob, hiding his face with his hand. Nick cupped his face, taking away his hand, stroking his cheek "Get out." "What?" "Just out." Charlie opened the door as Nick followed him, walking around to him.
Charlie sobbed and threw himself into the taller male's embrace. Nick instantly forgot what he was going to say and began stroking Charlie's curls as he led them back into the car, his hand still in his hair to calm Charlie down "Hey, hey, I'm here. Just let it out, tell me what happened?" "Tao.." "What did he do?" "You know how he's with E-Elle, he blocked me and you on Instagram, and t-told me he can't see me a-as a best friend a-anymore because s-since I posted my engagement ring on it an-and he didn't like it, I was getting comments like congratulations but Tao's was, H-How d-dare you? I-I trusted y-you.." He cried. Nick pulled him back into a hug, rubbing his back slowly in circles "You're okay, do you want to go home?" He asked as he shook his head "Let me p-pull myself together, and we'll keep going." "Beautiful, let's just go home." "Nick, No!" He snapped as the blonde flinched "S-Sorry." "It's okay, don't say the s word." Rimmed red eyes met brown as tears constantly spilt down his face.
