It was soon December 21st and the two had just woken together "Morning." "Good morning, Char, sleep well?" "Yeah, you?" "I slept really well, in a few days it will be our first Christmas together as last year you were unwell." "Yeah. I was, I caught the flu really bad." Charlie cuddled into Nick's chest and did an adorable scrunch to his nose "You're so cute." "Shut up." He blushed, hiding his face flush in his chest "What?" "Shut up." "Hey." Nick tackled him to the bed, tickling his sides as he burst out laughing to Nick's fingers digging into his stomach to tickle him.
Nick stopped to let Charlie catch his breath "Are you okay?" "Yeah, why would I not be?" "I'm only asking. Don't start with me." The anger and rage he felt for his pathetic state made his fingers tremble and tears well up in his eyelashes before he finally lowered his head and bit back a sob at his boyfriend's chest. He couldn't find anything and it was killing him to think he was a failure. His body shook in tremors and he eventually dropped his hand to curl up into a small ball while his heart hammered against his chest.
Before he could get lost in the darkness, a palm gently rubbed a circle into his back, soothing his panic. Charlie could feel another warm body curl around him protectively and the warmth of it made his body relax and his tears ease. The touch soon turned into a hug by this person side and for the first time, Charlie Spring finally had a shoulder to cry on. His tears broke free in his frustration and he whimpered and whined of all his struggles since his childhood. Nick rubbed his back slowly "I was thinking that maybe after I do my GCSE's, we could go to Disney." "In France?" He nodded "I'd love to, with one of our mum's?" "Yeah, possibly your mum as she's now clean, right?" "Yeah, she is clean for a while now, munchkin." Charlie looked up and smiled, sitting up between Nick's legs "Yes baby?" Charlie turned around as Tori stood by the doorframe "Mum said breakfast is ready, Charlie do you want anything?" He shook his head, curling up on the bed "I'll be up in a bit, sweetheart." He nodded. Nick pulled the duvet over him, pressing a kiss to his head.
Once Nick had breakfast, he walked upstairs to see Charlie not in bed "Charlie?" He panicked, walking up to the bathroom, knocking on the door to total silence "Charlie, open the bloody door!" He tried opening it but it was locked by something in front of it "Open the door Charlie Spring." "No." His voice croaked. Nick turned the handle, heaving the door open with his whole body until it opened. He slipped inside "No!" Nick looked at him with tears in his eyes, grabbing a flannel, taking Charlie's left arm in his "Let me." "Go away!" He snapped, slapping his hand away, "Let me help you please, Char." "Fine." He huffed, placing his arm on Nick's leg as he wiped the blood slowly. Charlie wrapped his arms around the struggling blonde, tears running down both their cheeks. Charlie's sobs wracked his small thin frame and echoed in the bathroom. Nick refused to let him go no matter how hard he fought. "Nick, tell me honestly... Am I a good person?" Nick's heart broke, "Charlie...you're an amazing person. You're funny and smart, you care about what people think of you too much. And you let people tell you what to do too much. You never think about what you want." Charlie was thinking about how Nick's eyes shined whenever he was around and his cheeks lit up with a beautiful rosy colour when their eyes met.
They both leaned in and their lips met in the middle. They kissed slowly while sitting on the bathroom floor. They pulled away "Can we put tinsel around our room?" "Of course we can, let's go and ask your mum for some." The blonde took off his dark turquoise hoodie which he normally wears, pulling it over Charlie's fluffy head, putting the hood on, pressing a kiss to his nose, grabbing his hand, walking downstairs.
Charlie walked up to his mum who was wrapping the last of the presents "Is everything okay, Charlie?" "Do we have any more tinsel?" "Yeah, go upstairs and in your old room, there should be a box with tinsel in it, just take what you need." "Thank you mum." "You're wearing Nick's hoodie, are you okay?" "Sort of relapsed." "Oh darling, come sit." Jane patted the space next to her. Charlie sat down as she grabbed her son's hand, stroking her thumb along her son's knuckles "What were you thinking about?" "When me and Nick went to the cinema and Ben and Harry were there?" "Oh love, come here." Charlie fell into his mum's arms, resting her head on his chest "Are you sure you don't want any breakfast?" "I'm okay, in a little bit." "Alright, go back upstairs and relax." He nodded, getting up.
