"Mornin' Iruma – chi, Kana -chi!" Clara greeted them.

Asmodeus followed from behind "I apologize for the trouble. Valac insisted on coming....."

"It's fine it's fine~" Kana smiled as she twirled the energetic Clara around.

Asmodeus turned red and hid his face as he turned around "my apologies Kana – sama."

"Eh? Why, what's wrong Azz – kun?" Kana asked

Asmodeus shook in internal terror.

"I have done something ungentlemanly, you are still in your pajamas."

Kana let out a giggle.

'Cute' she thought.

"Then, we'll get ready." Kana simply turned and collected her brother as she pulled him inside their house.

"How lively..." Iruma muttered under his breath.

Demon grandpa showed up.

"Good for you Iruma – kun, Kana – chan! You've made two new friends!" Sullivan – sama exclaimed

"Eh?" Iruma was startled.

"What?! They're not my friends! They're just people I often...talk and play with..."

Kana grinned at the flustered Iruma.

"Isn't that what friends do?" Sullivan – sama asked, "am I wrong?"

Because most Demons aren't familiar with the term friend.

"But still, I don't know what they think of it..."

Iruma finished the sentence in his mind 'can humans and demons even be friends???'

Demon grandpa was still as cheerful as ever.

"Let's go together~ I have a meeting today!"

Kana smiled "yes yes~"

Iruma and Kana quickly got ready.

Kana had to rush twice as fast because Opera couldn't wake her up, and so she woke up late.

And so, the four friends now walked into the dining hall.

"We've still got time 'till afternoon classes. Let's grab a bite." Asmodeus happily showed them the way to the dining hall.

He smiled "for now, new students may only access the dining hall and schoolyard. But we'll explore more places in classes."

Iruma was startled, "s- s'dat so!"

Kana knew it was the word friend that was making her brother stressed.

Clara exclaimed at a table "I got us seats!"

Kana had to walk with her brother, arm -in -arm so he would walk without pausing to think every now and then.

"I'll eat the biggest lunch!" Clara laid out the menus.

Kana sighed at Clara's excessive energy, worn out already and seemingly have given up on trying to calm her. "don't eat to much or you'll get an upset stomach."

"The menu's huge! What's this...?" Iruma showed the other's what he was pointing at.

"That's a ranking crest." Asmodeus answered.

"As i've said before, here in Babirus, achievement = ranks. The food you may order is dependent on your rank. The school food is free but the good stuff in the shop is priced. Since we haven't received our ranks yet, we eat from here."
