The next day:

"You want to raise your rank..." Asmodeus stared at Iruma.

"Yeah...well, at least to Rank 2 Beth... that's why Azz – kun, I thought i'd ask you to teach me a way to do that...." Iruma replied.

Asmodeus cried tears of joy.

' I had always's thought Iruma – sama had no interest in ranks...however, it was obviously just because he was vexed by his true feelings!' Asmodeus praised him in his head.

Kana smiled although she was exhausted by her last night's banter with her new pet cat.

"I'll help of course! Let us train together then! I will begin the preparations immediately!" Asmodeus gripped Iruma in excitement.

"Y-yeah" Iruma squeaked.

Kana inhaled the refreshing breeze of the outside as they got out of the classroom.

They went to the lower – level practice grounds, lead by Asmodeus.

"There's only one way for first years to raise their rank. We are assigned a rank for a fixed term and then tested again. To raise your rank, you just need to do better in our special 'rank advancement classes'. The last class was a flying race, and the next class should be...the 'cannon ball excecution'." Asmodeus explained.

"The canon ball execution is a killing tournament participated by demons over territory disputes. The weapons used 'cayman' are monster balls with eyes and teeth, if you are caught in it's jaws even once... it won't let go until it's devoured it's prey."

Iruma shivered "t-that's terrible."

Kana couldn't protest though.

Since in her past life, she belonged to a tribe that used to have worse practices on settling disputes.

'The people who shared dispute would have to fight until the head of the other has been detached by the other, who shall be the winner of the dispute. And takes home the severed head of the loser as a trophy.' Kana sighed.

"Since there were a lot of casualties, we'll just use this ball to practice." Asmodeus held out a normal ball with the Babilus's crest on it.

"....i see." Iruma was determined.

"Once you enter the castle grounds, everyone has to work together to defeat even just one enemy... but for now, we will divide the territory into 2 to save time and costs." Asmodeus showed a divided ground.

"How efficient!" Iruma exclaimed.

Kana thought 'just like volleyball....?'

She nudged Iruma, "hey Nee – san, do you know dodgeball?"

Iruma's eyes lit in recognition.

"Right...it's similar!" He nodded.

"What is?" Asmodeus asked as the two siblings were done whispering.

"Nothing!" Iruma got startled.

Kana smiled "just a game we used to play~"

Asmodeus clapped his hands in delight.

"As expected, Kana – sama and Iruma – sama will do well since they are familiar with this. The ball over there is the outfield area. Our job is to attack our opponents in the infield from the outfield!" Asmodeus was pumped up..

Kana nodded "it's like dodgeball and volleyball combined.... Problem is, i'm horrible at ball sports."

This was a serious problem for Kana.
