MLG Industries Main Office
Leonor's POV

Everything went smoothly today. Umaga pa lang, I was able to meet with some investors. Successful naman ang outcome. It suddenly came to my mind that my new assistant will begin today and Leila came to visit me in my office.

"Hi mars!" she said giving me a hug as she entered. "Napapunta ka?" I asked her.

She didn't inform me that she's coming today.

"Wala lang naman... Gusto ko lang makita anong gawain ng bilyonaryo." she said laughing. I clicked my tongue "You wouldn't want to see it."

"Sus! Ito naman. Masyadong humble!" she scolded me.

It was just then, we heard a knock on my door.

"Pasok..." I said.

"Good morning, ma'am!" and it was Theresia already.

"The barista?!" Leila reacted confused looking at me. "No, Lei. No longer a barista. She's now my PA– actually, no. My secretary na. Nag-resign na kasi siya." I explained.

"Wow. Sabi ko lang sayo na ang cute niyo tignan–" I cut her off. "Lei, ang bibig mo na naman ha!" I laughed.

"Anyway, Theresia, this is Leila. A good friend of mine." I introduced her and they both shook hands.

"Have a seat, Theresia!" I asked her to take the seat in front of Leila. "We know each other already. First day niya ngayon?" Lei asked me. "Oo. " I answered and Theresia just smiled.

"When did you two meet before?" I asked. "Bakit mo kailangan malaman?" Leila asked back to annoy me. I rolled my eyes in response and Leila laughed so hard after.

Minsan masarap din talaga magpatumba ng kaibigan pero she's right.

It's none of my business.

"Anyway, Theresia. Since you'll be my right hand and partner..." I said when I heard Leila murmuring.

"Partner~" she said as if I didn't hear her.

"Lei, come on!" I said squinting my eyes on her. "Bakit? Ikaw naman nagsabing partner ah." she added.

"Since you'll be my right hand, I hope that we'll get to know more about each other as time passes by. It'll make us easier to collab. You'll help me with some projects." I told her and she nodded everytime. Nakikinig talaga siya.

"Higit sa lahat, ayaw ko sa tatanga-tanga." I said and the two of them leaned backwards. I saw Theresia swallow.

"Noted po! Gagawan ko rin po kayo ng kape." she said smiling at me.

"Gusto ko yan!" Leila exclaimed and we both gave her a look.

"What? Masarap kaya yung kape na yun." she said wiggling her eyebrows.

"Ayun lang naman. I'll discuss more things with you kapag umalis na itong sakit ng ulo ko. Here's the folders of the reports. You can start working on some of them." I joked referring to Leila and she said "Grabe siya..." We all laughed.

"Sige po ma'am! I'll go ahead muna to leave you two. I'm one call away po!" Theresia said energetically. "Sure, sure." Leila said as Theresia left the room.

"Ang dami mong nasasabi, Lei." I rolled my eyes at her. "Did I lie, though? Madami kasi akong nalalaman." she said smirking.

"Buti sana kung may magandang dulot yang mga nalalaman mo." we chuckled.

7:30 PM

"I told you to watch over the stocks too! Hindi ko kayo pinapasahod to sit on your chairs and watch!" I was unable to handle my anger anymore.

I had 2 managers inside my office after I heard that there's an anomaly inside the lower departments.

"Sorry m-" one said. "Sorry?! Kung bumagsak ang kumpanya, will your sorry fix all that?!"

"Go on! Leave my office! I do not want to see your faces again!" I shouted, angrily. Nabalibag ko pa yung folders sa table ko.

My point here is correct. I do not pay them to watch. That's why they're in those positions anyway. Kung ako lang din gagawa, sana di na lang pala ako nag-hire.

The two left my office. As they opened the door, I saw the employees outside looking forward to my area. It was like they've seen a ghost. Their faces showed their reactions.

"Ma'am?" I heard a knock on my door. "What the hell is it again?!" I grumbled. Hindi pa bumababa yung init ng ulo ko.

"Ma'am, Theresia po ito." the woman behind the door said. Diyos ko! Akala ko kung ano na naman.

"Ah- Yes? Come in. I'm sorry. I thought those bastards came back." Suddenly, my voice softened, so I permitted.

"Ma'am, here's a cup of coffee po. Careful, mainit pa po." she said placing the cup gently on my table. "My favorite."

Theresia stood in front of my desk holding a tiny tray. "Mukhang mainit po ulo niyo, madam." she said, somewhat letting out small laughters.

"May tao pa ba labas?" I asked her as I searched through the papers on my desk.

"Meron pa po pero iilan na lang." she said. I nodded in response. "Good. Anong oras na ba?"

"7:30 po ma'am." she answered.

"Bakit di ka pa nag-out? Until 7 ka lang diba?" I asked her.

Lagpas na pala ng 30 minutes. "Ma'am, kakatapos ko lang po ayusin yung reports na inabot niyo. Kaya napag-isipan ko na rin po to bring coffee here. Ang lamig po ngayong gabi bukod sa naka-aircon tayo." she said smiling at me.

She's a different type of employee. Unlike sa mga hired ngayon, she's the ideal employee that I want in my company. Sa nakita ko sa kanya sa coffee shop, she's really optimistic.

Hindi ako nagkamali.

"Gusto mo na bang umuwi? It's your first day. You can leave those for tomorrow. Matagal pa due niyan." I told her and the woman nodded.

"Good night po, ma'am Leonor." she waved at me.

"Good night."

I didn't leave yet. I stayed inside my office wondering what has gotten to me. The way Theresia smiled at me hit me hard.

It wasn't like that before.

The fact that my mood changed right after I heard her voice.

Parang 'di ko na kilala sarili ko.

I stretched my back and yawned. It was a long day after all. I thought that it might be because I'm tired. I had enough stress for the day. I drank the coffee she left for me, rubbed my chin, and spinned my pen on my hand.

I stood up, grabbed my handbag and my blazer. On my way down, I passed by Theresia's cubicle. As I walked closer, I saw the report papers on her table. It was true she worked on it already. I smiled because I know she will be a good partner in business.

Magkakasundo kami.

I heard footsteps behind me and It was her.

"Hindi ka pa umuuwi?" I asked.

"Pauwi pa lang sana, ma'am. Nag-cr lang po ako." she said, still smiling but her eyes suggested that she's tired.

"Ikaw na lang mag-isa dito sa floor. Uwi ka na." I told her as she prepared her things to leave.

I watched every movement she made. The way she moves is so gentle and smooth. Her voice sounded like a lullaby that it calms me down.

"Yes po, ma'am. Uuwi rin po."

Theresia, I don't understand you anymore.
