Chapter 11: I Love You, I'm Sorry

Leonor's POV

After yesterday, today is a return to work. Malapit na yung deal closure namin about the new project. I have to prepare for the final presentation.

"Shocks! Yung reports nandun kay Theresia." I said whispering to myself.

I called to her "Theresia, paki-akyat yung folders, please. Thanks.", I stretched my back and continued to type on my laptop. I continued to respond to emails. "The balance sheets," I whispered again scrolling through the outbox.

Soon, Theresia walked into my office. "M-ma'am, here po." she handed me what I asked for.

"Salamat." I responded. It was so awkward since none of us spoke after. She didn't leave but stood still in front of my desk.

"Anything else?" I asked her. She shook her head no and left.

Maybe what happened in the trip still bothered her. We never really agreed on a real relationship, so it shouldn't bother her that much.

Inaamin ko, she's really lovable.

I like her.

It's just that I don't think we'll be the best combination. I'll make her life a mess kapag naging kami.

My gosh, Leonor.

"Leonor... It's me." I heard a knock. "Ah yes, it's Leila again. Pasok..." I said chuckling and she went in.

"Hi! Na-miss kita agad." she said laughing. "Clingy ka." I said, hugging her.

"So, how's the trip?" she asked. "We were in a relationship." I said to her Leila gasped and I saw her raise eyebrows.

"What do you mean by were? Break na kayo agad?!" she said leaning forward.

"Oo. I made a deal with her na we'll be in a relationship for the mean time. After nun, wala na." I explained to her and she laughed sarcastically.

"My God, Leonor! Ganun lang ba pagmamahal sayo? Something that you can just throw away? May I remind you lang ha. Hindi nabibili ang pagmamahal. Kahit ikaw na bilyonaryo, hindi mo ma-oorder sa designers yan." she said.

"What about Theresia? How is she?"

"Ayun... I saw her earlier. She was just blankly staring at me. It felt like she needed to say something but just couldn't construct the right words to." I responded.

Totoo naman. We had an awkward silence for that reason.

"It's because she wants to say something talaga! Kahit sa akin mo gawin yung ginawa niyo, gugustuhin ko talaga i-klaro lahat." Leila said.

"Pero minahal mo ba talaga? Kahit kakaunti?"

"I love her, Lei. It's just that I'm trying to protect her. She's the only one who loved me in the sense na as in sarili ko lang and not my money or properties that's why I truly treasure her. Hindi siya para sa mundo ko na magulo. Mahal ko siya pero mas ikasasaya ng puso kong makita siya to live the life she deserves by which I can't clearly give."

"You know, Leonor, you can! You're just afraid. She loves you back! I'm not Theresia, but sa nakikita ko, she'd want to join your struggles. This is the first time you've been in love. Whatever you're feeling complicates things because you hold back."

"That woman does not deserve to suffer simply because you are a coward. Leonor, walang mali sa magmahal. If you truly love her, you should be willing to make sacrifices because she is as well. You'll have to fill in the spaces for each other."
