Chapter 31: Together Forever

The day Leonor received an anonymous message.
Leonor's POV

"No, Lei. I have to go. Do not tell Theresia about this. Hindi kita mapapatawad if you do so."

Her arms crossed and she sat on the chair. Her bag was placed under the floor. That was my sign to leave. I rushed outside and got into my car.

Mamayang gabi pa kami magkikita ni Miguel. I read his email at 7 daw kami magkikita somewhere in Paco. So, I took the remaining time to do everything else that I can do as of now.

I called my friend, Chel Diokno. Siya yung makaka-meet ni Theresia tonight. "Hello, Chel! Good afternoon!" I said as soon as he picked up. "Good afternoon, Leon! How can I help you, madam?" he said.

"Chel, you'll be meeting with Theresia tonight, not me. May kailangan akong puntahan. Closed naman na yung deal diba? Sure ka na?" I asked him. "Oo naman, madam. I trust your successful company." he said, happily.

"Alright, wag mo na pahirapan si Theresia mag-present later, please? First time niya kasi. Be kind to her. Compliment her presentation, okay?" I ordered him. "Yes, Leon. I'm sure Theresia will do good. Whether she does or not, secured na." he said and I sighed with relief. "Alright, thanks." I ended the call.

I called my lawyers and met with them somewhere in Pasay City. "Dan, what can I do in case I get harmed or... Mapahamak ako somewhere?" I asked Daniel, one of my lawyers, without telling about Miguel's threat. He told me not to tell anyone or else masasaktan si Theresia.

"Well, the best way to prepare madam is to settle your last will and testament. Ito kasi, it will be useful lalo na kapag may sudden na nangyari, such as sudden death because of medical conditions, etc. It will be your sworn statement about your properties." he said and I nodded at his words.

"Can I do this right now? As in ASAP?" I said and they nodded. "Alright then. Gawin na natin agad."

I wrote Theresia as the beneficiary, meaning everything I own will be shared to her. Including my banks, company, and all properties. Mas mabuti nang sure so that hindi mapunta sa wala yung mga pinaghirapan ko.

"Ma'am Leonor, you're sure at appointing Ma'am Theresia as the only beneficiary?" one asked me. I nodded and said, "Lahat ng pwede kong ibigay sa kanya, ibibigay ko." I said and they nodded. I signed the papers already. Settled na.

I called Leila too, "Kumusta si Theresia?" I asked. "On going na yung meeting with sir Diokno." she said. "I already signed my will," I told her and she gasped. "The heck, Leonor? Please don't tell me na ganoon na kalala yung sitwasyon." she said. "Well, ganun na nga."

"I'm on my way there kay Miguel." I said beneath my breath and Leila was sniffling, suggesting that she's worried. "Wag ka na lang kaya tumuloy, Leon? Masama kutob ko eh." she said with her nose congested. "Kesa naman si Theresia galawin nun. Whatever happens tonight, kasalanan ko."

I revved my car and she heard it from the other line. "Leonor! Ano ba yan! Ayusin mo ngang mag-drive! Baka mamaya dyan ka madale." she said. "Wag ka mag-alala Lei." I said and I ended the call already.

I tightened my grip on the steering wheel, "Whatever happens tonight, kasalanan mo, Leonor." I said to myself.

Theresia and Pia's arrival in Seoul

I watched as they exited from the immigration area. "It's nice to see you again, mahal. You're still as beautiful as ever." I said in my head as I saw them. I kept my eyes on them from afar, making sure that they'll be able to ride safely.

I went to the new building and had a great look around. This is also Theresia's achievement and I'm surely proud of her. By tomorrow, we'll see each other again face to face.

I went to the Grand Hyatt Hotel where they'll stay for awhile. I paid for all the expenses. "Keep my payment confidential. If asked, tell them that it's part of the business trip expenses. Thank you." I ordered to the reception. They nodded.

I availed the best suite they have so that the two can have their most comfortable stay.

Later at night, I called Pia. "Hi Pi." I said and she almost screamed in surprise but I shushed her. Baka magising si Theresia. "Can you come down for a moment? Nandito ako sa lobby." I told her and she said, "Oo! Oo. I'll be there." trying to keep her voice down.

As soon as we met in the lobby, she went in for a hug. "Kumusta kayo?" I asked. "Okay naman. Si ate, tulog sa taas. Napagod na ata." she answered and I nodded.

"Teka, since when were you here?" she asked. "Nauna lang ng onti sa inyo. I knew that Seoul would be the right place to see her again." I responded to her question.

"Matutuwa si ate nyan. Sakto, birthday na niya the day after the opening ceremony." she said with a wide smile. "Kaya nga eh. Also, Pia, I have something to ask din." I told her and she nodded. "What is it, ate?" she asked while leaning closer.

"I'm planning to propose and marry Theresia soon and I am hoping for your blessing." I told her and she gasped with her hands on her mouth.

"Oh my?!" she breathed. "Seryoso ka?" she asked. "Oo naman. Masyado nang matagal kaming naghiwalay. Sayang ang oras. I'm more than serious when it comes to your sister." I told her to assure her that I'm sure of my decision.

"Oo naman! Payag ako. Ikaw lang naman mahal nun. Baka pag hindi ako pumayag, patayin ako." she said and we laughed together. "But please, make sure to take care of ate. She's the only one I have aside from my girlfriend." she asked me to do so, I nodded. "I guarantee you. I will be faithful and truthful to her." I smiled and we hugged again.

"Also, gusto kasi niya na before siya ikasal, maayos daw buhay mo. So, I thought that I'd give you one of my properties sa NYC." I told her and she gasped. "Totoo ba?!" she asked. "Oo. Syempre, kailangan ko siyang tulungang tuparin mga pangarap niya for you."

"Wag ka mag-alala, Patricia. We'll be a whole family soon. I promise you, mahal na mahal ko ang ate mo and I'd do anything to make her feel the fullest of love." I told her and she smiled to hug me. "Thank you, ate madam. I trust you. Please don't break it."

I'll ask Theresia to marry me as soon as I have the chance. For now, kikitain ko muna siya bukas. I'll make her know that I made my promise true; that I'll come back.

We'll start over. This time, together.

Now, without barricades to hold us apart, without a distance to separate us.

Soon, it'll be us, our plans as one, and the future we'll build together.
