The Next Day
Theresia's POV

I didn't see the time but when I did, I was already running late. I rushed to prepare and arrive at as soon as I can sa office.

The traffic did me no good at all.

Punyetang timing naman 'to.

I gripped for so long until I was able to step onto the office grounds. I didn't use the elevator anymore, I had to run to the CEO's office.

I knocked, "Good morning, ma'am." panting and sweating.

"You're late," she said coldly while holding a folder.

"I apologize, ma'am. Na-traffic ako sa EDSA and I didn't expect it would take that long." I explained.

"Natural na yung traffic dun. Shouldn't you be expecting it everytime? It's not that hard to adjust your time." she said finally gazing at me. Her stare looked like she's about to kill me anytime now.

"It won't happen again, madam." I kept my head low. Medyo nakapagtataka lang why she's suddenly acting like this.

Feeling ko talaga lalamunin na ako ng lupa.

"You may leave." she said swiveling her chair to her left. "Coffee po ma'am?" I tried offering but she didn't respond anymore so I left.

Bumaba na ako sa floor kung nasaan yung cubicle ko. I sat there and wondered why she's so different today compared to yesterday. She's suddenly this rude and cold to me. Hindi naman siya ganto sa akin.

As I was anxious already, I went to the comfort room and called my sister. "Pia..." I said to her and my tone alarmed her already. "Ate, what happened? Okay ka lang?" she asked me, concerned.

"Nakakatakot pala siya." I said breaking in tears. "Wh-at? Sino?" she asked me. I can tell she's confused. "Si Ma'am Leonor." I responded.

"Terror ba?" she asked. "Oo. It's so stupid. Pangalawang araw ko pa lang, I messed up big time."

"What'd she do?"

"Hindi na niya ako masyadong kinakausap ngayon." I told her the truth.

Out of nowhere, it's like she's a different person. "Nasaan ka?"

"Sa CR sa office."

"Ate, I really can't do anything to help pero if there's something you should do, try talking it out with her. Communication lang ang makakapag-settle niyan." she said to me.

I ended the call and went back to my cubicle as if nothing happened.

-----

I went back to her with her favorite coffee that I made in the hopes that it'll make something better. Kahit na kilala talaga siya for being rude and all that to her employees, a part of me tells me that I shouldn't let her treat me like that.

Para akong nasasaktan everytime she does.

I don't understand why.

"Ms. Gerona?" I entered her office slowly. I found her scrolling through her phone. "Ma'am coffee po." I placed it down on her desk slowly.

"Thank you." she finally spoke but still in a cold tone.

"Ma'am, may meeting po pala kayo today. After lunch po. Meeting with international representatives." I reminded her. I saw her close her eyes and drop her phone to her desk.
