Chapter 29: Even If You Don't Know

The day before Leonor asked Theresia to come with her to Thailand
Leonor's POV

"Bakit mo naman naisipang pumagitna?" Leila asked me after I told her what happened in the office pantry. "What else was I supposed to do? Theresia was defenseless." I said.

I heard Leila's tongue click. "Edi kung ikaw pala nakakita nung pag-aaway nila sa BGC, nasapak mo pa yung lalaki?" she laughed. "Oo. Ipakulong ko pa siya agad. A man full of bullshits. Buti na lang nalaman kong loko-loko yun bago ako pumirma." I replied.

"You know the things I can do, Lei." I told her with all confidence. "Yes, Leonor and I wish you won't have to do it." she laughed.

After my call with Leila, I called my travel agent to book a trip anywhere around the world. Somewhere with a place to relax. She suggested Thailand. Marami daw kasing places to calm which I agree.

I stalked Theresia's twitter account. Hinanap ko if she has any relatives that I can find. I only found an account named "Pia Hontiveros" so I suspected that she's her sister. Tama naman ako. I messaged her at ipinaalam ko sa kanya si Theresia. She said that she's a fan of me so pumayag siya agad. Iniisip ko kasi that it'd be rude and weird if bigla ko na lang siyang sinama sa ibang bansa. Hindi ko naman siya kaano-ano.

I had a copy of Miguel's company files since I wanted to invest in his firm before. I saw his other investors. He had 2 others. Sakto, mga ka-close ko yung bosses doon. Isa na dun si Mr. Chel Diokno. He's the lead director and the head of the biggest company to invest in Miguel's business.

I quickly contacted him and told him about the man's attitude through a call. "I see, Ms. Gerona. Kawawa naman si Theresia. I'll drop all the offers there. Thank you for letting me know. I'll make sure he won't get funds anymore." he said. "Alright. Thank you sir." Our call ended.

I backed out and Chel did too which means babagsak na ang kumpanya niya because of bankruptcy. He deserves it after all. Like I said, I'd do anything to help Theresia.

After that, I received a call from Leila again. "Leonor?! What did you do to him?!" she asked as if I killed the person. "Put him in bankruptcy. That's all," I said. "Hay buti naman. Does Theresia know?" she asked again. "Nope and I do not have the plans to tell her everything I'm doing now." I responded.

"Wow. Theresia doesn't know she secretly has a knight in shining armor."

Arrival in Thailand

"Ikaw talaga. I'll be your jowa for a week kasi that's how long we'll stay here. Pag-uwi natin, back to normal tayo. Deal?" I reached out for her hand.

"Deal."

I just know that this is my chance to make my move. She really means something to me and I really want to make her feel it. I want to keep her already. But we'll have to take things slow. My world is a very complex one. I want to help her adjust, if so.

I bought a house there for her on the spot. I want her to feel the best she can. Nakakahiya kung sa hotel lang kami mag-sstay.

Excuse ko lang sa kanya na trip ko sana for myself. That whole trip was for her and hers only. Not even for myself.

When she first kissed me, butterflies swarmed inside my stomach instantly. I never expected her to do that agad. She kept taking pictures and I took pictures for her too, pero kapag sa akin, kadalasan, stolen shots. She captured everything nicely and that includes my heart.

Kahit na deal lang 'to, nothing serious, I admit that I had fallen for her already even before this. This time, for real. Hindi lang ako sigurado if she feels the same. But whether she does or not, I'll treat her the best that I can because she deserves it.

I'll give her all the love that I didn't receive for myself before.

Last Day of the Trip

Last night, I heard Theresia crying inside her room. I'm not dumb and stupid, so I now know she feels the same way about me. Umaga pa lang, pumunta na ako sa kusina to reminisce all of our moments together. I wished we can stay like this. Pero I don't think na karapat dapat siya sa buhay kong magulo.

Hindi niya deserve.

I feel like to love her will naturally develop the feels to keep her beside me, pero kung totoong mahal ko siya, mas pipiliin ko kung saan siya magiging komportable at ligtas.

I stood quietly outside her room. "Good morning, baby ko." she said to Lora. She's awake already and it was my cue to go in so I knocked. The moment I said "Pangga." she cried instantly which means she felt lonely ever since last night talaga. We had a talk.

"But I want you forever." she said.

"Forever doesn't exist."

"What if it does?" she asked.

My mind started to think of a lot. But one thing's for sure. I do believe in forever and it was all when I met you, Theresia. I just didn't find the right words to say. I still have doubts.

What if we're both feeling this way about each other just because we were lonely at the same time? Baka dahil pareho lang tayong malungkot?

Will you still love me if we were happy?

Will you still do the same if you weren't unhappy and miserable?

"I love you." was all that I could say. "I love you more." she responded.

I love you, Theresia, ever since before Thailand. I have always loved you but I wished I had the right words and the guts to say.

Mahal kita, Theresia...

...Pero sa ngayon, sa paraang hindi mo pa alam.
