Dr Kim puts electrodes on Amy's head and begins his procedure. Amy is sitting on the chair inside a dark room with a screen in front of her. She puts on 3D glass and gets ready for the action. Dr Kim monitors her brain activity while Han's eyes are fixed on Amy.
Dr Kim starts projecting images of birds, trees, animals that basically calms Amy to make her comfortable at first. He then tries to switch images to some scary things like ghost, vampire, blood, dark shady places to see her reaction, but little did anything change in her brain activities. He then accelerates to images of cars on dark road with some accident scenes which started troubling her but she faced it boldly as if she wanted to get over it right now. The need to defeat her fear could be seen in her eyes. Han could see her clenched hands, her tensed face with prominent jawline that is created because she is clenching hard her teeth, her wide open eyes that she is forcing to keep it open and look straight to the screen. Han is broken inside cause he know how hard she is trying and how much she is suffering but all he could do is just watch her from outside. The pain he has given her seems like has no end. Only if for once he could take away all her pain so that she could live a normal life even if it means to live without him, only if he could make it happen, he thinks while Dr Kim is busy tracking her brain activity and changed the screen for the final showdown.
In front of Amy a video is played where a car is driving slowly on a dark road and suddenly only car's flashlight is zoomed in with a sound of breaking glasses. That took away Amy's all courage, strength and boldness and she couldn't even get to scream. She just choked herself and couldn't breathe though her eyes remained open and kept looking at screen with flashback of the accident coming in and out her mind. Dr Kim turns off the video and brightens the room. Han rushes inside to rescue her but looks like she is not listening. He holds her face and tells her to look at him and calm down but it's not working. He could see her struggle to breath and couldn't stop himself from blowing in her mouth to help her breath. As her breathing gradually becomes normal she collapses on the chair out of exhaustion. Tear falls from Han's eyes as he hold and kisses her hand. He ferociously wipes his tears and faces Dr Kim, but before he could lash his anger out on him, Dr Kim directs his fingers to Amy and advices with sign language to come out of the room to talk. Han carefully puts blanket on her and checks her vitals before he moves out closing the door cautiously.
Dr Kim tries to assure him that she is fine but he has a tendency to overreact when it comes to Amy. Despite being a doctor he loses all his reasons to think and understand the situation. It took no time for Dr Kim to understand how much he loves her. He patiently listens to all his complaints and only when he is finished, he starts reminding him with all his reasons why it was so important to do this. Today it was an artificial set up. What if it happens to her all of a sudden and there is no one around. He could imagine the consequence. It was necessary in order to figure out the extent of her disease. And the prognosis is not good. She tries to fight it but this is her downfall. She probably will never be able to recover but it may cause her distress. From the symptoms it is clear that in worst case scenario she will choke to death.
Han just goes numb. Imagining how easily she could leave her anytime cause his heart to sink deep, deep and deeper in the darkest zone of the ocean. He starts to feel the pain that she is going through as he couldn't breath because his lungs are not listening to his commands. The moment he lost his father runs through his mind but Dr Kim helps him to snap out of his dark world and hands him a glass of water.
Han tries to hide his turmoils but Dr Kim is known to have eagle's eye when it comes to spot mental troubles.
Dr Kim: " You need to calm down. Overstressing is not the solution. I know who you are and what you are capable of. We can help her together. With your support I am sure that treatment will work in our favor."
He assures Han and takes him under his confidence. Generally, more than patient, psychiatrists has to help their guardian first because this is crucial in order to create a positive environment for the patient who needs utmost care and support aroud them. To build a support to rely on and go forward with confidence. If mentally Amy is prepared to get knocked down again and again until she is ready to fight back, then only hurdle she could face is Han not letting her to go through such trouble. If he can't see her being so vulnerable and not let her try, the treatment will not occur at all, forget about cure.
