I explained everything about sister Rita's death down to me meeting Levi and everything carefully and cautiously so that sister Michelle won't hear anything.

'you did what??, You snuck out' Anna whispered yelled covering her mouth

' Anna stop being dramatic if I didn't. I wouldn't have known all these am telling you',I answered sharply

'then let's die in ignorance. What came over you Bethany. That was so dangerous.',she said still shocked

'okay, have heard. What do you have to say though. At least am save and sound now',I said raising my hands

'at least thank goodness for that. What a nerve', she said snorting

'so you wanna plan an escape? ',she asked

'obviously, yes', I answered.

'okay, what's the plan? ',she asked looking so interested

'that's why I called you. No plans yet, let make plans together',I said playing with my fingers waiting for her response

'me and you?',she half yelled

'i was expecting that from you, we will go at night Anna',I said reassuring her

'okay then. I can't leave you in this that's why am agreeing with you seriously',she said looking pissed

'thanks bestie',I said joyfully hugging her.

'so what's up now? ',she asked looking so interested

'well, Levi is coming back in one week time and we gotta make a plan before then'i said looking excited

'okay, we move at night of that day and escape the close watch of the people on duty to guard the places that day', she said

'that's my boss',I joked looking pleased

'let me go back to my room. Told my roommate I. Was going to use the restroom. Bye sleep tight, don't think too much',she said getting out

'awww, you know me too well. Gonna try to sleep. Bye',I said and closed the door.
Sister Michelle  Was already sleeping soundly, I kept pondering and praying the plan works out till I was taken to dream city.

We kept doing our activities and me and Anna kept talking about our escape till the ultimatum was almost over.

ONE WEEK LATER

We did our daily activities and Anna and I met to talk about the time and it was exactly one hour after light out of course. And we will pass the field then use my escape route(the barb wire path and runnnn).

Wishing this will work out,I couldn't stop thinking. When the clock struck an hour after light out I sprung up from my bed and opened the door quietly and I kept tiptoeing in the passage till I got to Anna's room. She opened the door and moved out immediately too.

'great my dear friend's,I whispered smiling

'let's move please',she whispered back

We tiptoed till we got to the field and then Anna grunted in frustration

'what?' I asked looking displeased

'i forgot something',she said

'oh no Anna's,i.said

'forget it,as far as you are clothed and you aren't barefooted let's go',I snapped at her

'no, it's as always been with me. It's my dear diary let me go get it. I wouldn't be long',she replied

'if it was dear you shouldn't have forgotten it in the first place. This is so risky Anna dear',I said so disturbed now

'won't take time seriously'she said already retreating.

Seriously i didn't bargain for this. Anna gone ,I stayed in a one corner unnoticed and waiting patiently.

Sitting there like I was almost invisible,a rat just jumped out of nowhere making me scream and I regretted it instantly.

'who's there at this time',I heard mother Monika's voice..

Knowing it was finished for me,I ran as fast as I could towards the barb wire space and escaped. I heard mother Monika shouting stop there. But sorry for her,I was gone for GOOD.

And then it dawned on me I had left Anna,she wouldn't know what had happened and would still come out. I hope she's okay,i waited for what felt like hours and didn't see any sign of Anna. I knew it was the end for us there and then.

I moved to where me and Levi met,he was actually there already. I was so happy,I entered his car and started crying.

'what's wrong Bethany?',he asked surprised

'what should I say. Should I say am Crying because am finally free or because I won't see Anna again',I said confused between sobs

'oh,your best friend. Where is she?',he asked

'she couldn't make it,I said

'sorry things like this. It ain't easy for two people or more to venture into it.'levi said and turned the key and the car started moving

My sadness was soon killed by curiosity, Levi noticed and he explained how the car worked.

I kept listening attentively so amazed
