Chapter 19 : Grand master of all things bad

(Spark's POV)

Months have passed since we've prevented the destruction of time, peace returned to our world. Of course, not everything returned to normal right away. Time was still out of control in some of the places, but over all, things were getting better.

The best thing is that mom returned, dad was back to his old self, and sis was just as cheerful as she was before. Of course she still looked at Zane's photos from time to time, seeing her being like her old self was enough to make me happy.

We went back to our daily routine of vigorous guild training, Icy had been asking me and my sister about what we were going to do in the future, my sister suggested to form an exploration team for ourselves. Of course I told her that it was too early, especially for us being so young, but overall...I liked the idea, especially the part of being able to form a team with my crush.

"Hey Chatot, is it my turn for sentry duty again?" I asked, it was the early morning, and I had gotten up earlier today since sentry duty was my favorite job among all of the missions, also, Chatot's wing, which was almost sliced off by Kabutops seemed to have fully recovered.

"Spark, I'm glad you remember about it as usual, it was supposed to be you today, but guildmaster and I have an announcement to make later. It's definitely not anything bad like time gears getting stolen, tell your sister and your parents to get ready" he squawked. "Not like it's possible for somemon to slip past Dialga, he's a unbeatable madmon" I said to him as I padded back to our room and told my parents about the guild announcement.

"What?! Graduation?!" Dad gasped. "That's right, graduation from the guild! After you graduate, you can leave the guild. You'll be rid of harsh daily training program too, but of course, that all depends on your passing the graduation exam" Chatot replied. "That's so cool big bro! I can't wait to take the exam!" my sister exclaimed.

"But...Chatot, we've been around a lot longer than them, why do they get to take the exam first?" asked Golduck. "Golduck, they've already proven themselves worthy many times over, for example Spark can get the footprints of even the weirdest pokemon right, unlike you who can't even handle the common ones" Chatot replied. "It's..really nothing Chatot" I said to him.

"After all, team Fleaf have saved the world. It's only natural that they've earned the right to be tested. And that's how it goes, we'll soon conduct the graduation exam, I expect you to be prepared for it" Chatot squawked.

"Hey Loudred took the exam last year" Florges said from behind. "And promptly failed" Golduck added. "G-get lost!" Loudred said from behind.

"So what do we have to do in the exam?" mom asked. "I want you to explore the depths of a wood named Mystifying Forest, you should find a place called Luminous Spring there, it's where pokemon once went to evolve in the past, maybe because the time troubles we had, no sunlight shines on the spring now, now nothing can evolve there" guildmaster replied.

"We want you to travel there, and return with a treasure, if you can bring the treasure back to the guild, you pass the exam, and graduate from the guild with full honors" Chatot said. "This doesn't seem to hard" Icy said from beside me.

"But...you have to watch out for one thing...there, you'll find a frighteningly strong enemy. The grand master of all things bad lives there" said guildmaster. "What kind of stupid name is that? That mon surely could have came up with a better name?" I thought to myself. "The grand master of all things bad?" dad asked.

"Yup! The grand master is terribly wicked, it's a horrifying presence that no mon would ever want to meet...so good luck with that!" said guildmaster. "That...doesn't sound very intimidating" I heard Icy say. "That will do for the morning briefing, alright everymon, let's get down to work!" Chatot said to us, and everymon left for their separate jobs.
