Just a few things to note. Firstly, this book was written as more of a pastime than anything and as such won't be trying extremely hard to follow canon rules about how things work. That said, it should feel relatively familiar if you watched the movies/played the games/read the books.
Darth Nyx, the MC of the story, is an original character. She is based loosely on the SWTOR sith player character, Darth Nox. As such, there may be some similarities between the two that those who played/play the game might recognise.
The story takes place in a world where Palpatine is still emperor and Darth Vader is very much alive and well. It occurs during the time period when the hunt for all remaining Jedi is in full swing. There aren't many changes to the world at this point but an important thing to note is that the Death Star hasn't begun construction as yet. Instead, all resources are being redirected to expanding the fleet and repairing the damage done during the Clone Wars.
