To think we'd have been dragged out of hyperspace above the capital world of a nation we're not allied to. This trip just keeps going from bad to worse...
Hal: Milady, we're being hailed.
Me: Put them through.
A hologram of a blue-skinned woman appears before me and my officers. Thankfully, everyone's disciplined enough to refrain from showcasing any signs to suggest we have no idea what's going on.
????: This is Commodore Ar'alani of the Vigilant. You have entered Chiss Ascendancy space. Do not resist and-
Me: Well met, Commodore. I am Darth Kailey of the Sith Empire. Power down your weapons for we come in peace.
Ar'alani: Peace? You call having multiple warships dropping out of hyperspace above our capital world peace?
Me: I understand how it looks but really, we had no intention of coming here...wherever here is, exactly. We were merely travelling on our way when our ships were all pulled out of hyperspace.
Despite her lack of an initial response, I can tell from her facial expression that she's leaning towards believing that we don't come with any bad intentions. However, before we can come to any agreement, we're all alerted to an entirely new vessel that drops out of hyperspace behind my fleet.
I immediately recognise the vessel as one of our Dreadnoughts and when I hear Avril's voice coming through, it brings much joy and relief but it is short-lived.
Ar'alani: So much for coming in peace.
Me: Wait-
Ar'alani: Do not attempt to-
A new voice cuts our talk short and as her hologram comes into view, everyone on our bridge stands and salutes.
Nyx: Are you the ones who pulled our ship out of hyperspace?
Ar'alani: What?
Nyx: Do you know that such actions are tantamount to a declaration of war?
Wait, what is she doing? Surely she doesn't think one dreadnought is enough...wait, with my fleet supporting her she could easily handle a fleet their size. The main issue comes down to the fact that we don't know anything about them or their ships. They could be much stronger than we estimate.
Ar'alani: What are you saying?
Nyx: I am Empress Nyx of the Sith Empire. You're in my way.
Empress? Just how much has changed since I got stuck inside the singularity? The others on the bridge all reciprocate my thoughts but like me, they also don't have an issue with it. After all, that was always the plan. Either Hadra or Nyx would eventually ascend the throne and lead us into a new golden age.
