It's been a few weeks since we arrived on Dromund Kaas and, much to my delight, things have gone pretty well. With everyone working towards preparing the planet for our use, we've not only been able to fully restore the capital city's primary utilities but we've also managed to clear the planet of hostile fauna to the point where travel between regions on the ground is once again possible.
There's still much to be done but so far we've been able to restore basic functions such as farming and mining thus buying ourselves time. Time's perhaps our most crucial asset right now but we're quickly running out of it. If things continue like this, we won't last. We need resources and we won't be able to get all we need here.
To this end, I've gathered everyone important to today's discussion within the restored throne room. They've already forced being the new Empress onto me so as everyone gathers, everyone eagerly looks toward me for "guidance".
Me: We're going to begin our plans for conquest. Our current aim isn't to conquer the galaxy but merely to secure our position by gaining access to the resources we'll need. To that end, our initial scouting parties have returned with vital information.
Djinn takes his cue and brings up a hologram of the region surrounding our current location.
Djinn: There's not much out here but there are four places of particular note. At the top of that list is the casino planet - Cantonica. It harbours much wealth but while we could take it, it would be useless to us currently and it would also attract the immediate response of the Empire which could see our position challenged.
Hadra: We're not really in a position to fight a major war against a galactic superpower so I hope your alternatives aren't similarly suicidal.
Djinn: They aren't. Save for Cantonia, the other options are much lower in importance. There's Felucia which would solve the immediate need for a stable source of food and labour. I suspect the Empire won't even notice the planet is lost. There's also a strategic point of interest in the form of Yavin IV. Currently believed uninhabited, we could make it a military outpost.
Me: Are there any natural resources there?
Djinn: No one has really gone looking for any so it's hard to say. There are a lot of trees-
Shae laughs at that and the others join in, with good reason. Dromund Kaas is anything but short of trees.
Me: You mentioned another world?
Djinn: Well, I'm uncertain as to whether the Galactic Empire would notice the loss of this world so it's hard to rate it in comparison to others in the risk factor.
Me: Show it to me.
He repositions the hologram to better showcase the world in question which just so happens to sit on a rather strategic point of interest for our potential enemy. This fact is easily noticeable to the others as well as everyone takes in the locale.
Djinn: Telos IV...more often referred to as Telos. While as of late it has focused more on tourism and technology for exports, it should be just as capable of outputting large food-
Me: Technology would be quite useful though we would still need to find a source for the materials needed. We might revisit them later but I've made my decision.
All: You have?
Me: While resources are great, we also need to establish a secure region around Dromund Kaas. The easiest way to do this is to retake Korriban. This will prevent anyone from being able to find our capital without our knowledge since they'll all need to go through that system to access our cluster.
