A Darth of the ancient Sith Empire suddenly finds herself, countless centuries in the future within a new age ripe with opportunity. A galaxy weakened by civil war yet firmly under the control of one who claims to be the Dark Lord of the Sith, this...
As the dreadnought drops out of Hyperspace, we're again face to face with the singularity that had spat us out what feels like ages ago. Unlike before however, a planet that we'd missed now sits fairly visible some distance away. it's not close enough that it's been pulled in but I can tell it'll only be a matter of years before it is.
Me: She's down there.
Avril: I'll have them prepare a shuttle-
Me: No. We'll have the entire ship descend into the upper layer of the atmosphere.
Avril: Are you certain-
Me: From there we'll do a quick retrieval before jumping away. We can't afford to spend too long this close to the singularity. There's no telling what'd happen if it managed to pull us back in.
Avril: Understood.
As she has the ship manoeuvre into position, I head down to the hangar bay and once again board one of the fighters. This time it is Hadra, rather than Shae, who comes with me in a separate fighter and with us are only around 5 other fighters.
Descending below the clouds, we're immediately attacked by massive flying beasts which attempt to knock us out of the sky but using the agility of the fighter to my advantage, I'm able to easily dodge their attacks while continuing towards the ground. Hadra, chose to fight, gunning one of the beasts down before turning around and supporting the other fighters in clearing a path through.
By the time they catch up to me, I've already landed at what appears to be an abandoned base. Broken parts, campfires, empty cargo boxes and more all lie strewn about the flattened opening.
As I walk throughout the camp, I'm joined by Hadra who comments on how the occupants likely left not long before we arrived as the firewood in the firepits are all still warm. This gives me some hope but our search is cut short when more beasts charge us.
These ones, don't appear to have wings but are immensely swift. It takes the use of the Force to dodge their initial attack as we draw our weapons. Standing back to back, I shout for the others to get to the fighters and provide fighter cover while throwing debris at the beasts using the Force to distract them.
It works, and soon enough the fighters arrive and finish them off while Hadra and I form a protective bubble around us to protect us from the attack.
Hadra: This world is rather hostile, isn't it? Think they survived?
Me: Apart from the lack of blood or dead bodies? The fact that there are no crashed or abandoned ships present tells me they are still alive if no longer on this planet.
Hadra: What would you like to do then?
Me: We can't afford to spend too long here. We'll-
We're interrupted by the crackling sound of a radio. Rushing towards the sound, I dig through the debris to find a semi-portable communications pack. Through it, I hear Kailey's voice. In turn, I try contacting her but to no avail and Hadra points to the gaping hole in the back of the machine being the likely cause.
Kailey: [All ships, converge.]
There's a break in the transmission but from the fact that we're receiving their transmission from the planet using this small pack, I can tell they're still within the general area and thus radio Avril to break from the planet's gravitational pull and begin searching for them.
Taking the pack with me, Hadra and I hastily rush back to our fighters where we immediately launch off in pursuit of our dreadnought, our escorts hurtling after us as we punch clear through the flying beasts above and back into the upper atmosphere.
Kailey: [Prepare for $%&# jump to $%&#.]
Pushing the fighter to its limit, I leave the atmosphere so fast the fighter pulls a bit of it into space leaving behind a small trail as it clears the planet and continues pushing towards the dreadnought.
Avril continues trying to hail any ships within the area but her attempts fail, not for the lack of trying but as we are soon to find out because the blackhole sits between us and is causing interference between our transmissions.
Just as I reach the hangar bay, Avril contacts me with the report that they've just detected multiple ships entering hyperspace on the other side of the black hole. Not wanting to waste a second, I guess that they'd likely try to return to Korriban or Dromund Kaas in hopes that they'd be able to find us there and so the minute Hadra and the others arrive in the hangar bay as well, I have Avril follow after the mystery fleet.
By the time I join Avril on the bridge, she's already confirmed that one of the vessels' signatures matches that of one of our lost ships. This revelation gives me hope that we're on the right path but we're suddenly dragged out of hyperspace where we find the fleet we were pursuing facing off against new ships. They are ships I have never seen before and as our dreadnought drops out of hyperspace behind the fleet we were chasing, a flurry of communications hit us all at once. Throughout it all, however, one phrase sticks out amongst the chaos.
