Sorry sorry sorry! I know it's been a really long time since I last uploaded. I have an SAT in a month and I've been studying and trying to juggle all the other fun things that come with Junior year. I didn't really get the chance to really sit down and write. And to be honest with you,  I've been a little discouraged with the lack of response I've been getting for this story. I'm not inclined to update if I know nobody's reading. It's very dissuading. But I decided I'd keep trying so I wrote this chapter and here it is! As always, comment, vote, and fan!

Chapter 6

As we walked into Elise’s old favorite pizza joint, Joey’s, I smiled at the bright, sparkling smile that illuminated her normally reserved face. If there was one thing I knew, it was that Elise loved pizza.

“Wow, I haven’t had pizza in years!” she exclaimed animatedly.

“How many?” I asked, bemused. Pizza was Elise’s absolute favorite. I couldn’t imagine Elise Pearson not eating pizza.

“Er…six,” she replied sheepishly. Wow. Six years?! That was almost as long as—oh.

“Did you, you know, stop eating pizza after we er…broke it off?” I asked lamely. I couldn’t imagine that could be the reason. I mean it was pizza for God’s sakes.

“Um, yeah, sort of,” she murmured embarrassed.

                “Why?”

“A couple of reasons. Don’t worry about it. All that matters is that I’m getting pizza now!” she squealed, the happy woman of a few seconds ago coming back. I just smiled and led her to the counter, lost in my own thoughts. What could have possibly made Elise stop eating her favorite food just because we were broken up? I didn’t even see how the two were connected.

“One slice of Sicilian,” Elise asked politely of the pimply-faced kid manning the counter. I had to swallow my laugh when I noticed the kid get all flustered and his pale skin turn beet red. I couldn’t really blame him either. Looking at Elise out of the corner of my eyes, I wondered why I had ever let her go. Her skin glowed with a healthy tan, her mile long legs stretched out from a pair of white Chino shorts, her hair flowing freely over her shoulders in silky waves that contrasted the usually tight constraints it was held under, and her delightful face was turned up into a breathtaking smile. Yes, overall, Elise Pearson was a very hot woman.

I ordered my own pizza and when the kid came back with the slices, we walked to the booth in the corner where we always used to sit. I thought I felt something brush my back, but I guess it was just a breeze or fan or something, but when I turned around, I saw a man standing at the counter staring at Elise’s ass with his bottom lip between his teeth in appreciation. I raised my eyebrow at his brashness and glared a little. I didn’t know where this bout of jealousy was coming from, but I knew it was overwhelming.

Elise, none the wiser, perched herself on the bench of the booth with her back facing away from the asshole.

“Are you okay?” she wondered. “You look a little pissed. Did I do something wrong?”

My chest ached slightly at her question and the innocent look in her eyes. It was the first time I had seen Elise with her guard down since the day she had accepted the job of being my girlfriend. I felt like a total ass seeing her so distraught over my anger.
