A tall figure walked into Rivendell, the hood of his cloak over his head as he held the reigns of his horse. He was greeted by Lindir, to which the elf spoke with kindness.
Akkar simply walked to the stables when the greeting was over. placing his pure black stallion, Ranger, in one of the open stalls and giving him an apple and some hay before making sure he had water as well.
Only then did he decide to walk around Rivendell, his hood falling to show his face better.
As he takes his stroll Akkar studies everything he can, taking in what's changed and what hasn't. He makes his way to the gardens, hoping to find someone he's missed for a long while.
"Akkar!?"
He hears no sooner then he turns into the garden and takes a few steps, and The platinum blonde Half-elf is attacked with a large Hug.
He stumbles a bit yet manages to gain his balance in time as he hugs back with joy in his usually cold blue eyes. Rather surprised as he caught a glimpse of the person before they hugged him.
"Vanya," he speaks calmly, his voice deep and gruff. The elf in question steps back and punches his arm harshly.
"You scared us You Wanker!"
She scolded, Akkar smiled faintly and nodded while placing a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"I figured...I apologize."
As he speaks his voice is calm, his eyes are soft and filled with amusement as he study's his old friend.
"You've been gone for years-"
Akkars laugh cuts her off and it effectively stops her protest before she gives the Half-elf a rather confused yet offended look.
"Sorry," he speaks and shakes his head, "you're just- overreacting... quite a bit." He smiles.
Vanya sighs heavily and quickly hugs him again. "I've missed you, You big oaf." She grumbles.
Akkar smiles and pats her back. "I've missed you to, Mellon." He replies, "where's Nasir?"
Vanya hesitated to speak as she took a step back from her old friend, playing with her sleeves as she watched him for a moment.
"they're in their bedchambers," she says, "they've been...different."
Her words hit Akkar head on and he lets out a heavy sigh as she continues, "Ever since you left, they haven't done much of anything except for take a few walks and overwork."
The half-elf nodded and bowed his head. "Thank you, Vanya. I'll go check on them" he replies gently. He turns and swiftly exits the gardens with grace, his carefully measured strides allowing for a quick exit.
As Akkar made his way towards Nasir's bedchambers, he grew to be slightly nervous. He was usure why, it's just his old friend.
He and Nasir were very close before he left to travel, though he was aware that time changes a person. He was proof of that, along with quite a few others on middle earth.
He knocks on the door as he arrive and sighed as there's no answer at first. Akkar simply shook his head and decided to speak up, "Nasir?," He pauses for a moment after speaking, his head tilting a bit.
After no response he decided to look for lord Elrond, he knocks on the Elven lords study and awaits a reply.
"Come in, Akkar."
He hears from inside, and the Half-elf smiles a bit in amusement. 'I definitely don't miss that' He thinks to himself before turning the doorknob and entering the study.
"Elrond," he speaks, a small smile on his face as he gives an Elvish greeting instead of a hug.
The Lord of Rivendell gave a greeting in return as he spoke. "I assume you are here in regard to Nasir's health?" Elrond speaks and Akkar nods. "They should be out of their room later."
Akkar smiles faintly at the news and nods slightly. "Very well," he speaks, "I should go drop my things off" he gestured to the weapons he still carried and bowed his head slightly before turning and leaving. Feeling Elronds eyes watch him go.Akkar walked to his old chambers. As he opened the beautiful wooden door and made his way in. He took a look around as he shut the door behind him.
There was daggers scattered around the room, some sticking in the walls holding up papers. He took a glance at his desk and seen the disheveled papers, he huffed and shook his head. There was a bit of dust on everything, he noted.
He walked over to the desk, fixing the papers into a neat stack as the unorganized look was bothering him greatly.
He then picked up some of the scattered daggers, placing them in drawers with easy access and one under the pillow. As he finished he finally took off his swords.
He placed both of them beside his bed leaning against the wall and taking a seat on the bed, disarming himself and laying the rest of his weapons on the night table beside the bed.
After he finished, he took off his boots and laid back on the bed. Looking up at the ceiling and sighing as he stayed like that for a while, not realizing he had fell asleep until he awoke a few hours later.
As the half-Elfs eyes opened, his head felt heavy and his limbs sore. presumably from the travel to Rivendell, Akkar choose to ignore it though as he forced himself to stand. He merely glanced at the door before heading over to the small wardrobe in his room so he could change into something more fitting for dinner in a few hours. Akkar finds a light blue tunic and some brown trousers. both were his size, and the Half-Elf wondered how. But he did not dwell on it long. Akkar disrobed and changed into the new clothing before he decided to at least brush his hair, pinning half of it up after and braiding the pinned-up part. He took a glance at his worn boots, scuffed and dirty from travels. The Half-Elf liked them, and he cared not for how others would think of him as he slipped them on.
Finally, Akkar gathers a few daggers and slips them into spots with easy access like his boots before he swiftly leaves his room with a rather calm and collected demeanor surrounding him. He makes his way outside to the gardens and a faint smile graces his slightly chapped lips at the familiarity. The Half-Elf would never admit to anyone, but he did miss Rivendell. He spent the next few hours sitting on one of the fine elvish wood carved benches, just enjoying the quiet.
When the time comes, Akkar calmly makes his way to the dining area for dinner.
Although his face did not show it, there was a familiar knot in his stomach and a heavy presser in his chest as he got closer to the area. As the Half-Elf turned the corner his steps faltered just slightly as his gaze immediately caught sight of a certain Elf.
Nasir's Gaze was not turned towards him, but Akkar felt as if he could melt away. He silently studied the Elfs snow white hair and their perfect jawline, he noticed that they had decided to cut their hair short.
He did think it was fitting for them. Akkar's breath caught in his throat as the eyes he had missed all too much turned towards him finally.
Vanya, who had previously been speaking to her sibling paused and chose to watch the exchange quietly now. Akkar felt the knot in his stomach tighten as he watched Nasir take long, quick strides towards him.
No matter how much the skilled Half-Elf tried to read the unusually blank expression on the Elfs face, he found it impossible.
"Nasir,"
He whispers, his voice caught in his throat, and he was surprisingly unable to speak up further. The Elf watched him for a moment having stopped in front of him, before they gave Akkar a harsh punch on the shoulder.
They also proceeded to call the Half-Elf a few unusual names in a different dialect he was not familiar with.
"Are you done?"
Akkar asked calmly after a moment, ignoring how his shoulder would probably have a faint bruise later. Nasir glared and scoffed at him; their harsh gaze left a sting in Akkar's chest. "No."
They speak shortly before swiftly turning around and walking towards their sister again, "Nasir wait," Akkar speaks up hesitantly, he watches as their steps faulter before they turn and walk back towards him.
"You left." They speak lowly, "You were just, Gone."
Nasir's words caused Akkar to lower his gaze with a nod, "I can explain everything later. I promise." He speaks calmly with a hesitant glance up at them.
He watches as they inhale slowly before nodding courtly, "Very well." They speak politely, closed off, not at all like Nasir. The Half-Elf then watched as they swiftly turned again and took a seat with their sister.
Akkar let out a surprisingly heavy breath before he made his way over to the table and sat down across from them both.
After everyone had arrived and was settled, the food was served, and everyone began to eat. Akkar found the dinner to be rather awkward and quiet, he began to feel out of place, the familiar itch under his skin that tells him he's ready for an adventure again had started to bother him.
He did hate to stay in one place to long. He was also dreading the conversation with Nasir, though he was sure now that he could not ignore it. The Elf had always been stubborn, especially when they wanted something. And right now, they wanted answers.~Timeskip~
After everyone finished up eating, though Akkar did not eat much, everyone stood and respectfully went their own ways. Akkar apprehensively made his way to Nasir's old room, waiting at the door for the Elf. As Akkar spotted them, he felt his chest tighten nervously again and he tried to inhale deeply to get the feeling to settle.
Nasir stood tall; their hands folded neatly in front of them. As the Elf came to a stop in front of him, he exhaled slowly.
"Well, come in."
The Elf spoke as they opened the door. Akkar took a step into his old friends' room and glanced around. Nasir's room had only changed a little from what Akkar remembered. The bed was moved around, the walls had more maps and scrips on them then before. Yet it didn't lack the familiar unorganized look that Nasir had always managed to avoid no matter what.
"Explain." The Elf spoke as soon as the door to the large room was shut behind them.
"I had to leave when I did"
The Half-Elf spoke immediately.
"Why. You could have said something at least!"
Nasir spoke, their calm demeanor slipping for just a moment before they gathered themself again almost immediately.
"No, it would have only made it harder for me," Akkar spoke solemnly, "You have to understand, if I hadn't had left when I did- I would have felt stuck."
The Half-elf's words were as Sincear as he could manage.
"Like a caged bird."
"I could have gone with you."
"No," They were cut of as soon as they brought it up.
"There are people here who needed you."
Akkar's voice left no room for argument, yet the Elf glared.
"That was not your choice."
They retorted.
"I apologize, but I do not regret what I did." He spoke calmly.
"Twenty years." They speak, "You left me, us- for twenty years."
"I'm aware."
"you're a daft idiot."
"I know"
"A fool."
"Naturally,"
As Akkar replies he's rather surprised to find himself in a sudden embrace. After a moment or two the Half-elf relaxes into the Elfs arms and wraps his own arms around them. His eyes closing as he relaxes into the the feel of the Elf's familiar arms wrapped around him.
