Hello readers! I am so sorry it has been 2 months since I last updated and now I finally have. Yay! Thank you so much for reading this book and I hope you either vote, comment, or read my other book, or all of the above!!
My ride comes to a stop as I enter the school parking lot. It wasn't made for those deadly pollutants called cars, heavens no! It was made for Electrocycles. They are an environmentally safe vehicle that is powered through electricity gathered by wind and sunlight. Even though technically I should not put my bike here I don't care and do so anyways.
As I hop off and walk my bike over to a small pole I sense a person behind me. I stop to rest my bike on it's kick stand, unclip my helmet, and spin around with it in my hand just in case I need to hit anyone for a quick getaway. Hey, I don't necessarily trust everyone at my school or random strangers on the side walk. Especially not when I am in high school. "Ack! Violence is the not answer my dear Ms. Trigger Happy!" Came a male voice. "Ugh," I sighed. "What do you want Nicholas?" So what if I am being rude, he's a jerk and I don't want anything to do with him. "Geeze, you would think I wold get a kinder welcome considering we've known each other our entire lives!" He responded. "Geeze, you would think you would stop being an annoying jerk after 16 years don't you think?" He grasped his heart like the drama queen he is. We have been family friends for years, since we were born actually. We used to be close but one day we just grew apart. "You wound me, Helena." "Good!" I flashed him a sweet smile before turning on my heels and grabbing my bike. Quickly, I scooted over to the pole and grabbed my lock out of my backpack where I placed it earlier. As I fastened my bike in place I walked away only to face Sir Annoying yet again. "What do you want!!" I screeched as I threw my hands in the air. "I just wanted to compare homework" he said quickly. I smirked as I realized that he was scared of me. He, the captan of the football team was scared of a girl. Of course I am a tough girl, let's just say I have a reputation for being aggressive in sports such as soccer. "As if! You didn't even do it did you?" I replied. "Look," he whined, " Can't you spare me this one time? You always do your homework and get good grades on it." "No way, do your own work Nicholas." By now my patience was wearing thin and I was contemplating ways to get him out of my way. A good kick to the shins would normally do the trick. "I have told you, it's Nick!" He said angrily. "Not according to your birth certificate. Now move, school starts in a minute." "Okay, okay! You can call me Nicholas if you let me use your homework." Desperation had started to sink into his voice as he offered me a pointless deal. "I already do and you can't stop me."
I had had enough of this and moved past him to get to the steps. "Please!!!!" Came a faded voice as the sliding glass doors to the school closed behind me. With ten minutes till school starts I walked up the school security guard, Miss. Johnson. "Hey Helena! Later than usual I see." "Yeah, some kid was bothering me. He wanted me to let him copy my homework." I said as I set my helmet and backpack in two bins to be examined. She laughed and said, "I'm guessing it was Nick? Okay, your stuff is clear as always. You can walk through now." I walked through the metal detector. It was used in airports long ago but now they use them in schools to make sure that students don't bring in anything illegal. "Yeah, it was Nick. He remains to be the same amounts of annoying as always." Miss. Johnson flashed me a smile and shook her head in disbelief. "What?" I asked curiously. "Nothing." she stated, "Have a good day at school!" "Thanks! I will!" With that I walked away with a smile on my face.
*Rrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!* It was if the bell had enacted a stampede as students filled the hallways. Thankfully my early arrival had given me just enough time to run to my locker before my shortness became the death of me. "Hiya locker neighbor!" (Get it? From Ant Farm?) Came a very excited and slightly hyper sounding voice from right next to me. "Why hello to you too my dearest locker neighbor." I replied in a fake British accent. I straightened my back and held my head high as I puffed out my chest and said, "Would you like a spot of tea?" The arch of my pinky finger sent both my friend and I into hysterics. Annie, my best friend was a humorous blonde who does gymnastics. We've been friends for forever and it was an added bonus when we were assigned lockers right next to each other. "How are you, Helena?" She asked. "I'm good. I can't wait though, soccer tryouts are in three days and I am hyped up to get on the team!" She let out a small laugh at my energetic response and said, "I'm sure you will do great." I smiled and we put our hands on the plasma foam attached to the front of our lockers. Mine popped open first and I quickly grabbed my computer along with pens, pencils, and my notebook for Spanish class. I then shoved my back back onto one of the hooks attached to the stainless steel walls. Since Annie and I had almost identical schedules, I waited for her to finish up before walking off to class.
