A/N
Hello, guys! I know that in the third chapter of the book said that soccer tryouts were in three days, I have now changed that to 2 weeks from that day in the book, a Wednesday. The pool party date was also changed and is now 10 days away from the day it was mentioned (Wednesday). I have decided that the current date is Friday, two days after chapter 3. The incident with the man and his knife happened a day prior and the advancements in medicine and treating wounds have made it possible for Helena to leave the hospital.
A couple hours later my arm was re-bandaged again and I was allowed to leave the hospital under strict instructions to use my arm as little as possible, rest a lot, and to make sure I eat and drink enough. My arm certainly stings but I was also given pain killers in case the pain is too much.
"Helena, I am going to ask you this again one more time. What the hell were you thinking?!" I winced as my mom's voice turned from calm to angry.
"I don't know mom, he was going to kill them!" My eyes burned red as I felt to urge to cry, "I couldn't let him kill them!" Tears spilled out of my eyes once more and felt the pressure in my throat, each word hurt as I spit them out. I knew I had done the right thing, I just wished it didn't need to be done.
"I know baby, I'm sorry I yelled." Mom sighed and unlocked the car doors for us to get in. Rosie was already in school, one of her friends had their mom pick her up. I suddenly realized soccer tryouts were soon and I still had the bad arm. The soft rumbling of the engine started up again as the Electrocycle scanned her fingerprints and turned on. What was I going to do? I have to get onto the team but it's dangerous to play in my injured state.
*Three Days Later (Monday)*
I must say that I did not miss my alarm at all. Not in the slightest bit. As a loud beeping sound stole me from my dreamless sleep I started grumbling gibberish as I removed my blankets with a heavy heart. Yearning for more sleep, I slowly walked over to my alarm and tapped the image of 6:06 projected into the air. It took two whole minutes for my alarm to get me out of bed? Hmmmm........... I searched for an outfit to wear and after ten minutes of fretting through my clothes I finally decided on a white sweater shirt, a pair of dark skinny jeans, and brown boots. Frowning into the mirror I threw on a touch of mascara and tied my hair into a messy high ponytail, strands fell out and framed my face naturally. I sighed, what was the point of a high pony-tail if my hair didn't even stay in it naturally. I was happy I had taken my shower the night before because otherwise I would have had to get my hair wet before my bike ride. I filled my backpack with my school supplies and my homework that I had finished while out of school for the weekend and then threw it over my non-injured arm. I flew out of the room and down the steps for my routine breakfast. Today I decided to have an extra smart pill so I dropped it into my drink and popped it into the solar oven. I grabbed my yogurt and English muffin, immediately spooning the peach chunks into my mouth as I prepared the rest of my breakfast. Ten minutes later I was kissing my mom goodbye as I darted out of the house, my hand print slowly disappearing in the green foam.
After quite a bout of weaving through pedestrians (there were some killer deals at stores so everyone was milling about trying to get good stuff for low prices), I managed to make it to school without decapitating anybody. Walking swiftly through the crowd, I tried to avoid crying every time someone brushed against my arm. Even though it was healing quickly, the cut still hurt a lot whenever I hit it. I was just thinking about when I would be able to tell the nurse about the injury so that she could re-bandage it when suddenly I was yanked out of my thoughts by a very obnoxious male.
"Helena!" Keeping my back turned I simply groaned in response.
"Helena!!!" Moodily I pivoted on my heel and rolled my eyes as I came face to face with Nicholas.
"Hello, Nicholas. What is it?" I raised one brow as I crossed my arms.
"Man, Trigger Happy. I see jumping a 200-pound man and getting stabbed didn't improve your attitude did it. No new outlooks on life?" I looked on in shock as Nicholas' mouth lifted into a smirk.
"How did you know about that?!" My voice lifted accusingly.
"Seriously?" His smirk grew bigger and it was now his turn to pull a brow lift. "How can you not know? It's been all over the news! 'Girl Saves Boy and His Mother In Heroic Act'" Nicholas' hands were raised mockingly in the air for emphasis on his words. My face paled slightly.
"Holy sh*t. Has everyone here read about it?" I started looking around at the people milling by.
"Pretty much." At this, I groaned and slumped slightly.
"Shoot. Looks like an awkward day is ahead of me. Adios estupido." A look of confusion spread across Nicholas' face as I made my way to the school entrance. As I left I heard him mutter "What does estupido mean?" I couldn't help but giggle softly at this. I thought to myself, 'Boy is he an idiot.'
Okay, second note from me. I was just wondering if you guys would like me to write a Nick POV. If yes just comment or DM me. I don't know if anyone is actually reading this other than my friends so I'm kind of hoping to see any readers I don't know..... :-) Also, I would like to thank my dear friend cantforgettobelieve for designing a brand new cover for this book, she is currently writing an awesome book about some dreamer girl who with the help of her mysterious friend Kat *wiggles eyebrows*, can move through worlds. It is truly amazing (I'm currently waiting for her next chapter) I would also like to point anyone looking for yet another good book (I have a lot of recommendations if anyone is interested) in the direction of my other friend VictoriaRobinson64 who is writing an awesome book called The Ice on the Shores. So that's it! Please give those books a read and *hopefully* wait for my next chapter!
