Bro talk #4

JJ pov

Me and John B got up and left to catch some fish but as we were walking I could feel the girls' gaze on us. I didn't ask questions I learned that the hard way.

The sun was hot and we could feel the hot sand on our feet but as we get closer to the water it starts to cool down. "How did you sleep last night?" John B asks while winking.

I know exactly that he is referring to me and Kie but I decide to play dumb. "What do you mean?" I ask him, trying to mess with him.

He nudges me with his elbow while laughing saying "you know what I mean, you and Kie"

I just look down at the water glistening from the setting sun and think of a way to respond without making it clear I like Kie, at least I think.

"Nothing is going on if that is what you are asking." I reassure him.

"I find that hard to believe considering she was laying in your arms all night," he tells me while raising his eyebrows.

I set down my spear and sit down in the sand getting ready to have this conversation.

"Fine, you got me, maybe there is something going on," I say as I see him also sitting down.

"Someone's got a crush, someone's got a crush," John B practically sings in a a childish voice.

"I slap him on the arm telling him "look maybe I do but I don't think she does and I don't want to make things any weirder with pope."

I hate myself for liking a girl my best friend just ended things with but I just can't help it. She gives me the warm safety feeling, I know that sounds weird coming from me but it's true and I just can't take my mind off of her.

"Bro don't worry about Pope, he will get over it. He has to if he wants to keep his friends." John B tells me patting me on the back.

"I know, I know,  but I still don't think she likes me the way I like her." I spit out.

I don't only like her.....I love her, but I know she doesn't feel the same and I just need to stay her best friend.

"Are you blind!" John B asks yelling at me. "She totally likes you, how am I the only one that sees that!"

"I hope your right because I really do need someone like her" I say fidgeting with my rings as I think of her heartwarming laugh and smile.

"Trust me, I know love when I see it" he tells me while standing up.

I didn't think he would use love to describe it but I have to admit it makes me feel goosebumps and butterflies thinking someone as amazing as her would love someone so damaged like me.

We carry on catching fish and catch about 9 leaving enough for one to each person and two extras.

I hold 6 fish and John B is holding 3 plus both our spears. As we are heading back to camp I walk up first seeing the girls sitting around the fire talking and Pope still In his tent.

"Food has arrived!" I yell So I can get Pope's attention from his tent.

Pope slowly walks out sitting on a log next to Cleo, John B sits next to Sarah, and I sit next to Kie.

We start the fire and cook the fish about three at a time while talking about random crap. The sun is almost fully set and on this particular island it is scorching hot during the day and freezing during the night.

We finish eating and I see Kie shiver, instantly feeling bad. There is a fire but it is not very big to warm you up.

I wrap my hand around her shoulder and rub her arm trying to warm her up at least a little. She leans into my side and everyone continues talking about random things like weather, building better tents, and food etc.

"Hey we should play a game!" Sarah says in a cheery voice

We all nod in agreement and I ask "what game?"

"Truth or dare!" John B speaks up. "Sounds like a plan," Kie states.

"I wanna start!" Sarah yells. "Alright then," John B says while putting an arm around her.

"Pope, truth or dare?" She asks with a smirk. "Truth," Pope responds.

I think this is going to be interesting considering it is Sarah. I'm sure she has a plan up her sleeve. I think Pope even knows considering he has a very frightened look in his eye.

"Do you like Cleo?" Sarah asks grinning at Pope. Popes eyes widened and I laugh my ass off as well as everyone else. At least except Pope and Cleo, she just had a horrified, but curious, look on her face.

Pope did not answer her right away and I wonder why. "POPE do you like Cleo?!" She asks the second time more angry.

There was an awkward pause.

"A little bit," pope finally answers. I see Cleo look at him and smirk and it is absolutely hilarious because you can see Pope is clearly embarrassed. We move on with the game so we don't torture him anymore than we did.

It is Pope's turn to ask and we all see the revenge in his eyes.

"John B, truth or dare?" Pope asks. "Dare," he answers.

"I dare you to throw Sarah in the ocean." He says while folding his arms with a satisfied look on his face.

"Sorry Sarah, it's a dare, but I promise I still love you." As John B says this I see him pick up Sarah and carefully place her in the ocean. She gets out and they both walk back and he gives her his shirt to warm her up. All I can think is awwwwwwwwww.

It is now John Bs turn to ask. "Cleo, truth or dare?"

"Dare." She responds. "I dare you to kiss Pope!" He tells her earning a bunch of ooooos.

Without hesitation Cleo grabs pope by his shirt and they kiss. Everyone starts clapping and I have to admit they are a really cute couple. Pope seems to be extremely happy and they both smile at each other after.

It is Cleo's turn to ask. "Sarah, truth or dare?" She asks.

"Truth," Sarah responds. "Perfect, I have been waiting to ask you this!" Cleo says smiling. "Are you and John B going to have a real wedding when you get back home?"

We all see Sarah and John B look at each other and smiling. "We are hoping!" Sarah responds, earning clapping from us.

It is Sarah's turn to ask. "Kie, truth or dare?" Sarah asks smirking again.

"Dare." Kie responds, and to be honest I am not surprised. I see Sarah and John B do their little married couple handshake and i know something is going to go down.

"Whoever you think is the hottest person, you have to sit in their lap." Sarah says knowing her plan worked.

Kie stands up and I see her walk around the circle to John B. She was teasing us. She starts to sit but half way through she stands back up and walks to me.

She turns her back towards me and sits down on my lap. I could feel everyone's eyes on us. I smirk grabbing her waist asking, "really?"

"Duhhhhhh" she answers, winking after.

She turns in my lap sideways with her legs across my lap and her left arm around my neck asking me "Truth or dare?"

"Truth" I respond. She rolls her eyes and asks me "did you like the tuna dip I made last week?"

I laugh but I don't want to tell her I didn't like it but I couldn't lie. "I.... Sorry it was not amazing" I say while laughing.

She hits me on the head lightly while laughing, saying "I knew you were lying!" I hugged her and Everyone broke into a fit of laughter.
