last day - day of the return

"before we leave, can we go to the lake, 'ren?" you asked, looking at him as he put your suitcase in the trunk.

"sure, sweetie! just give me some minutes, okay?"

"don't you want help?"

"nope!" he said, popping the p.

you watched him as he put the last things in the car's trunk, arms flexing and veins popping out.

'he looks so... breathtaking'

"i'm gonna go check if we forgot anything, okay?"

you nodded your head as you watched him disappear behind the cabin's door. after a while, he came out and locked the door. he walked closer to the bench you were sitting, as you got up.

"let's go" he said, taking your hand in his.

you walked behind him, your eyes locked on your intertwined hands. once he stopped, you raised your head to look at the view in front of you.

the crystal clear water hugging the small stones, that shined under the sun's rays. the different types of flowers that surrounded the whole place, along with the big trees, made the view so magical.

this place held dear many memories you swore you'd never forget.

late night dives and talks,

fun and games,

opening-ups and make-ups after arguments,

a first kiss with eren...

"will we... visit this place again?" you asked, voice slightly cracking.

"we will" he said, lifting your head and caressing your cheek.

"it doesn't feel right again" you said, placing your hand on top of his.

"what doesn't feel right?"

"leaving..."

"last time it was the same. it didn't feel right when we were getting ready to leave, and now it doesn't either..."

"i'll try my best to take you back here whenever we have a break, okay?"

you nodded your head and smiled softly at him.
