The court in the Nine Heavens was in an uproar.

Kidnapping the princess of Qing Qiu was in itself an unthinkable crime, but disrespecting the Crown Prince, the future Crown Princess, and the entirety of the Fox Clan? The immortals had heard enough.

No one expected the only surviving princess of the honourable Su Jin clan, or the respected Lady Le Xu to commit such atrocities, purely in the name of bitterness and jealousy.

They fully expected a war with the Fox Clan, and they were prepared to surrender.

But Ye Hua, Bai Qian, and the rest of Qing Qiu had other plans for the two women.

They would spare the Heaven Clan once, because they conceded that they had come to Feng Jiu's rescue before real damage had been done, because of her wits to send for help.

Had a single hair on her head been harmed, they would also see Donghua Dijun coming down on his own people with all of his might.

The Heavenly Lord, pressured by his sons, including Ye Hua's father, allowed Ye Hua to pass judgment on Su Jin and Le Xu, and Ye Hua had no intention of going easy on them this time around.

"Let her descend to the mortal world. Let her never reattain the status of a god for eternity. Si Ming will rewrite her fate as he wishes," was his sentence to Su Jin, to loud sobbing and begs for mercy.

For the final deed he could do for his mother, he sent her into exile in the mortal world with nothing except an inkling of power to keep her going. It was his final act of piety to her, but her crimes could not go unpunished, he pointed out to his grandfather, who scowled but said nothing.

Le Xu accepted her punishment without so much as a flicker of unwillingness. Ye Hua thought her lips trembled slightly before she bowed in submission.

Bai Qian had never felt so at ease in the Nine Heavens as she did that day. For once, she thought,
perhaps the Nine Heavens can become somewhere I can call home.
