"One and only..." Bai Qian murmured.

Ye Hua inched forward and took her hand. "What you heard in that mirror, when Su Jin spoke... did you hear my voice?"

"No..." Bai Qian replied, her brow furrowing.

"I would never do that to you. Never." Ye Hua promised. "What you heard in that mirror was simply lies. Su Jin was insanely jealous when I brought you up to heaven and told her I would marry you. She always wanted to marry me and would stop at nothing to do so."

Bai Qian's hands shook. She flicked a finger and a bottle of wine appeared. Taking a small sip, she murmured. "All I remember were those lonely nights when I had only Nai Nai, when you never came... when Su Jin humiliated me, framed me... and when you took my eyes." She breathed deeply. "I thought things would be better when I came to heaven. I thought your family would be kind and spare me, a mere mortal. But they never did." Her eyes smouldered with anger.

Ye Hua's heart lurched. "Qian Qian. What Su Jin just said... you don't take it to heart, do you?"

"I don't know what to think anymore, Ye Hua." Bai Qian looked at him, her eyes full of sadness. "I don't know what to do."

"You foolish girl!" Le Xu slammed her fist upon the small side table. The cup of tea on the table rattled. "Now you have turned my own son against me! You will never make it into Xiwu Palace now. Even I cannot help you, when I am in a dire state as well!"

Su Jin cowered on her knees. "I could not do anything. Bai Qian is a High Goddess. Ye Hua would naturally put the blame on me and-"

"You could have denied it and placed the blame on someone else!" Le Xu cried.

"Who?" Su Jin insisted. "Who could I frame? Ye Hua is a smart man. He would have known I was lying. He can always tell. I could not blame anyone else."

"It is time for drastic measures." Le Xu's eyes glittered darkly. "Death can be the only option for Bai Qian."

Su Jin stood up. Smiling smugly, she asked. "How do we go about it?"

"Trust me on this." Le Xu replied. You will never escape my hands alive, Bai Qian. Ye Hua is but under a trap set by you, my devious fox. But he will get out of your grasp. I will make sure of it.

The Heavenly Lord had finished with his daily tasks. He had recently heard of Ye Hua being smitten with the queen of Qing Qiu.

Just then he saw Le Xu sweep into the throne room, with a flick of her hand to dismiss all servants.

"Father-in-law," Le Xu curtsied. "I have news on my son."

"What has he done now?" The Heavenly Lord asked.

"He is now smitten with a queen of Qing Qiu, Bai Qian." Le

He left for Mount Junji to find exactly how Ye Hua had met, lost and found another like Su Su.

What he found was the Ghost Lord, Li Jing, wandering about, lost in apparently memories of young love, which the Skylord immediately despised.

However, he was an opportunistic person, and he sought Li Jing's attention to speak to him.

"Heavenly Lord," Li Jing came to focus. Inclining his head in greeting.

"Ghost Lord. And what are you doing here?" The Heavenly Lord asked absently.

"Ah, I reminisced an old friend." The Ghost Lord said vaguely.

"And who might that be?" The Heavenly Lord asked.

The ghost lord was smart. He understood that the Heavenly Lord was trying to squeeze information out of him, and he wasn't going to give him the satisfaction.

"Ah, it was just a thought. Besides, why are you here?"

"Ah, trying to find my grandson." The Heavenly lord faked a smile.

Li Jing nodded his head. "Then I shall not stop you."

The Heavenly Lord smirked. "Then might I remind you, Li Jing, the Celestial Tribe does not welcome a liar, one who evades the truth. In a way, you are as devious as Si Yin."

The name sent shivers up Li Jing's back. Oh, how he regretted choosing Xuan Nu back then. If he hadn't, perhaps A-Yin would have been his.

The Heavenly lord strutted away.

Li Jing's fists clenched at the sight. I will make you pay tenfold for this insult, Skylord.

Le Xu made her way to Zhe Yan's peach blossom grove.

She met the high god and after a short greeting, mentioned that she was trying to find her son.

Zhe Yan knew immediately that she was lying, because he detected a dagger hidden in her sleeve.

"Why, Consort Le Xu, what makes you think that your son is here."

"I know he loves this place and..."

"You mean you're trying to find Xiao Wu." Zhe Yan interrupted. "Don't think I don't know what you are hiding, Le Xu." Zhe Yan wasn't one to get angry but now he was. He could tell Ye Hua was trying his best, yet Le Xu was a obstruction for their happiness.

"High God..." Le Xu tried to protest.

"Le Xu, let your son be happy. Let them be happy. It's the least you could help them achieve after all the Celestial Tribe did to Su Su."

Le Xu could say nothing to this berate, so she awkwardly bowed and left, secretly seething with anger.

Su Jin paced about her chamber, Xin Nu following. She was getting more and more panicky. Her chance to marry into Xiwu Palace all lay on Le Xu. If she failed...

No. She couldn't think of that.

"Your Highness, do not worry. I'm sure Consort Le Xu will come through. You will be able to marry into the Palace. Your Highness..."

"Xin Nu, I can marry in, right? Bai Qian cannot take my place. SHE CAN'T!" Su Jin whipped around, almost crying, and took Xin Nu's hands. "It's all I've ever wanted since young."

"You can, Your Highness."

Just then Le Xu walked in and Su Jin could tell from her facial expression that nothing went well.
