Chapter nine- Emotions are overrated

The waiting is killing me inside. I have compelled everyone on duty to tell me when hes conscious. The headmistress is here and I called the fam as well. Gabby still thinks that I like Elijah but that is absurd. Junaid and Luke are not complaining. They are just extremely overjoyed to see that I am alright. While we wait for what feels like centuries, I have a blood shake that Junaid got for all of us. I walk over to maam for a brief moment and ask about Elijahs father. (HEADMISTRESS): His father raised him after his mother disappeared. My husband and I took them both in and we have been living together for centuries. His dads name is Nigel Haven. That is an awesome name! Just as I am about to respond to maam, the doors open and the doctor walks out. Everyone stands up but I think I looked like an idiot for jumping up like I sat on an open bag of nails. (Doctor Dwight): The patient is alright and conscious. He hurt his head which might have caused a temporary concussion and his blood is highly irregular. Traces of the Dragon Virus are found everywhere in his blood capillaries. But we have every one of our staff members trying to create an antidote and we promise that we will find it before you know it. Okay So they will find the cure but I am so sure that the Green Dragon organisation has it. Maybe a whole chamber filled with it. But I cant stop thinking about Elijah. (Cassy): May I go see him? He says yes and I teleport into his room and he smiles as soon as he sees me. He looks so much happier and brighter than earlier. I walk over to him and he holds my hand. (Elijah): Cassy! Its so good to see you. I thought that I wouldnt wake up again after I blacked out (Cassy): Dont say that. You are here and you will be okay We will be okay. We stand in silence and its one of those moments where you just feel comfortable without having to say anything. Then everyone else walks in and they are all so happy to see that he is okay. Apparently Junaid and Luke got to know him a little when I was missing. This is all just so crazy and I realise that I didnt tell mom about this yet. I quickly take out my phone and excuse myself from everybody. The phone rings for a while and I really hope that she will pick up. This makes me think about the Green Dragons and I tell myself that I will find them and I will find the cure. Eventually mom picks up the phone. (Dianne): Cassy! It has been a while. What have you been up to? (Cassy): Well, to be completely blunt the Green Dragons kidnapped me then injected us with the Dragon virus. I am a bit stable but Elijah just fainted and we took him to the hospital, they say that they will find the cure but I am sure that the organisation has a whole bunch of the cure laying around somewhere. (Dianne): Oh my word! I am happy that your friend is doing fine but you are alright? You are not injured? (Cassy): I am okay mom. No injuries or anything. I just wanted to call you and let you know but I am going to take him back to his suite now mom. Bye (Dianne): Oh okay love. Take care, Bye I put my phone in my pocket and walk back to the room. I am still so overjoyed to see that Elijah is doing well. I know he hates the fact that I saw him at a weak moment, but thats just something that happened. He sorts his things and walks over to me in the waiting room with his bags. I offer to help him but he is very stubborn and politely rejects my offer. I smile a little because I recognise that attitude and I dont know why it makes me feel so happy inside. I walk to the waiting room and in less than a second, he is ready. We walk to the car and he smiles at me along the way. As we put the bags into the boot of the car, my hand brushes against his and his eyes darken. I feel this magnetic connection towards him all of a sudden and I am just so glad that he is doing okay. I smile at him and head over to the passenger seat. As he sits down beside me, his eyes still dark, looks into mine deeply like he is examining my soul and out of nowhere, I feel warmer and start getting a bit of a fever. The bodyguards drive to one of the buildings and stop to go have a quick word with their boss. I curse silently when they leave because I dont know why I am so deeply attracted to Elijah right now. I look out of the window and still cant stop thinking about how my hand brushed against his and how dark his eyes became. I felt my pulse quicken and my face flush. I dont understand why this is going on. What is he doing to me? (Elijah): Cassy... Holy crap. His pupils are completely dilated and its driving me crazy. In a blink of an eye he pulls me towards him. He gently strokes my cheek and bites his lip as he strokes mine. Immediately, he kisses me and it feels like an electric shock runs through my body for a few minutes. Time goes by in this moment of passion and electricity. We stop because the bodyguards are back. I think back to the Dragon Virus and get serious. (Cassy): Uhm... [Clears throat] Elijah, we have to figure out Uhm what to do about the Dragon Virus He smirks at me and I flush a little but I am trying to be serious. (Elijah): Trying to change the subject hey? You have no idea how hard I tried to keep my distance with you Cassy. If that kiss was too much for you... Too much for me? Hes got to be kidding! (Cassy): Oh no it was electrifying, dont get me wrong, but I just realised that we still have some issues that we need to sort out. He smirks at me again. Stop it already! (Elijah): That is true. Although, I would prefer to taste your lips again rather than jump into another pit of danger. I wouldnt want to be put in a position to lose you. He is being so sweet. I just dont understand how he can fear danger? We are supernatural beings danger is in our blood. I think back to when Sensei was killed (Cassy): Elijah we have to be serious about this. They murdered my Sensei in cold blood and that man was basically a father to me. I have to get my revenge. His face softens. (Elijah): I am so sorry about your Sensei. We will find those bastards, I promise We reach the academy and head to my suite. He is holding my hand as we walk. I just cant stop wondering whether I should leave it or bite it off. I rather do a small shock spell to get his hand off of mine. *SHOCK* (Elijah): Ouch! If you were uncomfortable then you could have just asked me to let go, sweetheart. (Cassy): Where is the fun in that? We both laugh and as soon as we step into my suite, everyone is here. Gabby, Junaid and Luke are all here. My assistant Tamara is as delighted to see me as everyone else. I ask that I just have a quick word with her for a moment. (Tamara): So good to see you Cassy! I have been talking to the Academy Council and they understand why you have missed training. There has been several Academy Council Alerts but they will excuse you due to your latest encounters. I hear that you have been given a mission to avenge your Sensei? Tamara has always done her research. Shes the perfect assistant. I just worry that the Academy isnt paying her enough for her hard work. I have a craving for something but I have no idea what. I walk into the kitchen and grab one of my special snacks. Everyone is talking to Elijah and as usual, they are surveying him to see if he is good enough for me they do this with literally every guy I like. Oh shoot, did I just say I like him? Okay, no need to panic just have a sip of my snacks and walk over to them like my thoughts werent confessing silently. (Cassy): Hey Everyone! As usual, Gabby looks the most inquisitive of them all. (Gabrielle): Hey. We all just wanted to get to know a little bit more about Elijah. By we all she means herself. (Cassy): I see that. (Junaid): I need the bathroom that is close to the cafeteria. Luke come, we can go grab some food on our way there. Do those two ever stop eating? Couldve sworn that they caused world hunger not actually but you get what Im trying to say. (Luke): Awesome! Be right back guys! Theyre going to take a few hours at least. After they left, Tamara excused herself because the council is busy with another training thing but I didnt mind her leaving. Elijah is still speaking to Gabby and they seem to be really deep in the conversation so I go to take a nap. All of a sudden Im in a bar, talking to the bartender. (Becky Taylor): Yeah but ya got to be careful aight, hes reekin o bad news ya hear? Whos bad news? What is this woman talking about? Who is she? (Cassy): Yes, I hear you But he seems like a good guy. I am not even sure whats going on but I am speaking as if I do? (Becky Taylor): They all seem like good guys, til they get what they want. Then ya dont recognise them no more. Wait a second (Cassy): Are we talking about Elijah? She looks at me with a puzzled expression. (Becky Taylor): Who else have we been talkin bout for the past thirty minutes love? (Cassy): Oh just double checking. Guess I am a bit tired thats all. This is super weird. I get off of the bar stool but now Im in a house. Its beautiful and reminds me of the homes that were built around the time that my mom was born. I just see people slaughtering each other outside. It looks extremely delicious but I am so confused. Why am I here? How did I get here? I walk into one of the rooms and the first thing I see is Tamara. Someone pushed a stake through her neck into the wall. This is awful, beyond awful who would do this!? Theres a note in her pocket: Cassy, I wrote this to warn you. He is not who you think he is. Get out of here, NOW! What the hell? Whoever this guy is, I am going to find him and rip him to shreds. Even though I want to, I see Elijah out front. He looks different. His eyes are darker, he looks angrier like a different person. All of a sudden he turns to me and mouths run. I sprint towards the door and immediately wake up. (Cassy): *Gasp* Well I need to lay off the mint snacks for a while. I walk out of my room and the fam is back. Elijah isnt here. He apparently went back to his suite to get some rest. I tell them about my awkward dream and they look almost as confused as I am. We stare at each other for a moment in awkward silence. (Junaid): Question is is it Elijah? (Elijah): Is what Elijah? Oh crap! Howd he get inside? I have no idea what to say and he is waiting for a response. (Elijah): So what about me guys? Did I do something? (Junaid): No Uhm we were just wondering if we could have a birthday party for Gabby since its almost her birthday. (Luke): And we were looking for people to invite. (Cassy): So I said that they might all be able to come. (Junaid): So I asked what about you because Cassy didnt seem to mention you. (Cassy): Wow. Thanks Juju. (Junaid): My pleasure, sis. That was great thinking. I love these guys to bits. Now were all watching Elijah. Lets just hope that he buys our story (Elijah): Gabby, you didnt mention that your birthday was coming up! Oh thank Zoran he believed us! (Gabrielle): I know and I am sorry. Its just that I never do anything for my birthday so these guys wanted to have something big this year and I just accept it because theyre my family, you know. That is true though. Gabby never wants to do anything big for her birthday and I think thats just crazy. A person should celebrate the day that they were born you know. I have and Im not even tired of it. Although it has almost been 119 years, I still throw a heck of a party. Everyone thinks that I get my partying gene from my mom but truth be told, I do not get it from either of my parents. Its all me! So anyways, Elijah is helping plan the party but we are so suspicious of him and I have a feeling that this is only going to get worse. After a few hours of party planning, we all decide to go to bed. I dont think that I am going to get any rest tonight. Junaid and Luke got here a while after Gabby and Elijah left. I explain what happened and they cant believe it. I ask them to stay over because I dont plan on sleeping again. Theres a knock on the door and the Headmistress walks in. This is an unexpected visit (Cassy): Maam to what do we owe the unexpected pleasure? She looks very serious so we just keep a straight face. (HEADMISTRESS): Good evening you three. We have alerted your other two comrades to join us in this discussion. She opens the door and Gabby walks in with Elijah. What is this about? (HEADMISTRESS): I understand that you two have been infected with an extremely fatal virus and the organisation has some connection to your past Cassy? Where is she going with this? (Cassy): That is correct maam, but what is- (HEADMISTRESS): The organisation that is known for murdering states and continents without spilling their own blood. I gather that you are looking for revenge Miss Boston (Cassy): Yes maam I just- (HEADMISTRESS): Then you are going to need preparation and weapons training all of you. (Luke): Oh yeah! We all give Luke the shut up and just pay attention look and he gets it immediately. (Cassy): Maam the boss of the Green Dragon organisation he cant get away with killing my- (HEADMISTRESS): Grandfather, yes I know child. If you feel uncomfortable with this mission I could keep you here so you can work in the lab rather than out in the field? (Cassy): No maam, I wish to avenge my Sensei. He was like a father to me. SO We all stare at each other with knowing looks and then we look at Maam. (Cassy): Where do we begin?
