Marcy was pacing back and forth outside of Anne and Sasha's hospital room. Anne's parents and Sasha's parents were already dismissed. Meanwhile Marcy on the other hand had refused to leave until she got some kind of news that her friends were okay.
'Are they going to be okay? Oh god this is all my fault! Their so going to hate me once they find out about what happened to them! I'm such an idiot to think my nerdy bookworm self could actually protect someone! I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive myself for letting this happen to them.'
Everything went black around Marcy. Marcy flinched as she heard two familiar voices.
'How could you mar-mar.' Anne's face popped up.
'You betrayed us.' Sasha's face popped up.
It was terrible for her to see her friends with so much hatred in their faces and voices. It was kinda hard to describe how their voices sounded, it was distorted. But terrifying. Their voices sounded bitter, like they were biting back from screaming at her that very moment.
"No! I know what I did was super dumb! I'm so sorry..." Marcy pleaded.
'It's too late, we want nothing to do with you... ever again.' Anne said.
Anne and Sasha's evil mocking laughs flooded through her head as she fell to her knees, sobbing into her hands until her lungs burned.
'Oh god.. once they get discharged out of here they'll hate me for sure! What if they leave me? What if they tell everyone that I'm a monster? What if I don't exist anymore to them? Oh god.. once they leave me I'll be all alone again and I won't be able to protect them!'
Marcy's whole body began to tremble as her heart rate sped up and she started hyperventilating.
Her ear twitched as she heard an unfamiliar feminine voice through her sobs. "Hey there."
Annoyance and frustration swarmed throughout Marcy's body. "Go away!" Marcy shouted.
The girls expression fell as she opened her mouth to speak. "A-Are you talking to me..?" The girl asked.
"All of you!" Marcy responded.
The girls face softened as she realized what was going on and sat besides Marcy.
"Hey, sometimes I get wrapped up in my own thoughts too. But my dad's taught me a little trick to quiet the voices." The girl said.
The girl raised her hand up in the air and took a big, slow inhale as she used her fingers to count up to five, and used her fingers to count back down to one as she exhaled. Marcy watched the girls technique and followed along in hopes to calm herself down. She finally relaxed and Anne and Sasha's faces disappeared from her mind and everything was no longer black around her.
Marcy let out a sigh and opened her mouth to speak. "Thank you, I don't know what I would have done without you here." Marcy thanked.
"No problem!" Said the girl.
"I'm Willow." She introduced.
"Marcy." Marcy introduced.
"Soooo... why don't you tell me a bit about yourself? Why'd you have that big panic attack just now? If you're okay with telling me that is.." Willow questioned.
"Okay I'm fine with telling you what happened, can I vent about it though?" Marcy asked.
"Sure, you can speak to me about anything." Willow responded.
