A modern day home, with the look from the eighteenth century. Going up the stairs, we see a young woman, walking into a study room where a man sits behind, scribbling into a red notebook.

Canada. October 1, 1989

Suddenly, the woman stops, alarmed, clutching her stomach.

Gritting her teeth, she stumbles farther into the room, holding her belly.

And is it our imagination, or is her previously- flat stomach EXPANDING by the second?

The woman howls in pain. Her belly is wildly distended. The man looks up, to see his wife holding her now very pregnant stomach.

"Reggie?, What... What's happening?" asks the woman.

"I don't know darling." says the man, alarmed. "POGO!" he yells out.

A young monkey walks in with a scared expression on his face.

"Yes, Mr. Hargreeves?" he asks.

"Bring me the tools. She's going into labor," states the man loudly.

The man, Reggie, helps the young girl to the ground as the monkey goes to grab the supplies.

A few minutes later...

The man, emerges from between the woman's legs, holding a perfectly healthy newborn baby girl. The woman begins to sob. The man smiles down at the girl.

Suddenly, as if a cord was unplugged, the sobs from the woman stopped. The man looks down towards his wife to see blood, and her not breathing.

The monkey, walks over to check the woman for a pulse. Standing up, the monkey turns to the man with his daughter,

"I'm sorry Mr. Hargreeves, she's gone." says the monkey solemnly.

Reginald Hargreeves hands over his baby girl to the monkey and bends down to his now dead wife. He kisses her on the head. Standing back up, he turns to the monkey to hold his daughter.

"Your mother wanted to name you Marah, after her sister." says the man softly.

The newborn baby opens her eyes, only for those who were looking in them to see a swirl of orange's and red's, like the fires of hell in her eyes.

Looking down at the baby girl, the man feels a slight burn feeling on his fingers. Looking down, he sees the finger that his daughter, Marah, was holding is now burned.
