Arthur groaned. "Do me a favor and go the hell away."
Ryan chuckled. "I'll take that as a yes" He walked in front of the desk and took a chair and sat across from him.
Arthur sighed. He was not in the mood today. Then again, he was never in the mood, then again, his wife just left him. "What do you want?"
Ryan took out 2 white capsules from his pocket, and put them on his desk. "Do you remember anything that happened?"
Arthur looked at the pills. "What the hell are those?"
"Painkillers. Do you remember anything?"
He sighed. "My wife left me." He got a bottled water from his desk and took the two pills, not even bothering to ask Ryan what they were. He was beyond caring. His head hurt like hell, the room seemed to be spinning, and he canceled his sub. He really hated this.
Ryan nodded. "I think you mentioned something about that."
"I may or may not have kissed someone. I don't remember."
Ryan stood very still wondering if he should tell him. 'If I tell him, then things are going to get really awkward, and he might lash out at Laten. If I don't tell him, he's soon going to remember and possibly be more pissed that I didn't tell him, and take it out on Laten. Or he remembers, and hates me even more. Decisions, decisions.' "Who knows?"
Arthur sighed. "Do you know any last minute subs?"
Before Ryan could answer, the bell rang. He got up and unlocked the door. "Hope you feel better."
Arthur stayed silent.
Laten went to his biology class, after spending time away from everybody. Laten never really liked crowds...or attention. Being in a crowd always made him feel uncomfortable. Laten tried the door of the classroom and found out it was locked. Great. Things were never easy for him. He was tired. Then again, was there even a time he was not tired? He looked toward his left and realized that for one of those rare days was one that Tankie was not late. Tankie wore pure white pants, and a pure white t-shirt, and a pure white hat.
Laten laughed. "Going for the Michael Jackson look?"
Tankie shrugged. "I wanted to make you laugh."
Laten blushed.
"Hey, homos. Get a room!" Someone wearing a red shirt and jeans said to them.
Tankie rolled his eyes. "Hey, Ashton, how about finding peace in yourself before going to bother others?" He turned back to his friend, and shrugged.
Laten chuckled. As the teacher came in, everybody went into class. Ashton pushed himself between the two, and walked to his seat.
Laten was fuming.
Tankie sighed, and whispered, "Just stay calm. They want a reaction from you. Don't feed them that."
Laten quietly took his seat like always. The hell was the point in this school anyway? Laten absently started scratching his arms.
"Well, test day!" His teacher told the class
Laten's mouth dropped. 'She's gotta be kidding....' It wasn't like Laten wasn't prepared or anything. It's that usually his teacher was the type to be giving out...warnings before she just gave a test away like it was candy. Maybe it was because he wasn't focused as he used to be. At least, to Laten he didn't seem to be focused. His mind had been elsewhere, focusing on how to try and stop his addiction, focusing on trying to apply it, it all seemed like a jumble to Laten.
He got his test, and took a deep breath. He wrote his name, and started working on his first question, right when the bell rang. Luckily for the kids, they were all on time.
It was silent in the classroom, except for the clock that kept ticking. The atmosphere was tense, because either half the class was shocked, or the other half just wasn't prepared.
Laten got done somewhere around 20 minutes after he got the test. He got up, and turned in his paper. Tankie was finished about ten minutes after. Tankie got out a sheet of blank paper, and a colored pen. He started to write. When he was done with the sentence, he asked the other people quietly, to pass the note to Laten.
When Laten got the note, he rolled his eyes, thinking it was another kid. Since for him, it usually almost always was.
'Hey, you feeling okay?-T'
Laten sighed. Something felt off, but he couldn't quiet place it. Using his pencil, he quickly wrote his response. Pretty soon the bell rang and all the kids went to their next class. This was bugging the hell out of him, this feeling. He felt a vibration of his phone, when he was walking. He stopped and pulled out his phone. It read a text message from his father saying that he had a meeting with his councilor.
Speaking of that, Laten still had a bad feeling about him. Just the way he kept moving closer, when Laten kept trying to get away from him. Was that normal for him to be doing that to Laten, just to get him to befriend him? Laten rolled his eyes. Right before he placed the phone in his bag, a boy pushed him and he dropped the phone. Laten sighed. Life, just will not leave him alone at times.
When lunch rolled around, Laten was in one of his numb moves. Which means that he honestly didn't care if another crappy thing happened that day. Or any other day. He was already so used to it, that he just rolled his eyes to it. While Laten went to one of the empty classrooms, Tankie followed him.
"They are on my to-punch-list." Tankie said.
Laten jumped. "Don't worry about it. You can't expel every kid you see doing bad."
Tankie sighed. "I wish I could. Because we all know like hell, that the teachers can't or won't do anything about it."
"Actually, usually the only main reason why they can't do anything, is because that they need evidence of bullying. They can't automatically assume that we're telling the truth."
Tankie gave him a look. Of course Laten didn't see it, because he was opening a door. Tankie followed him into the classroom and closed and locked the door. "If they checked the security cameras ever so often, they would have their evidence."
Laten snorted. "Well anyway, I have an appointment with my councilor when I get home. They guy that Dad called."
Tankie looked down. "Do you still have those erry feelings about him?"
Laten nodded. "I can't figure out out what is causing it. I mean, Tankie, he moves closer when I try to move away from him."
"I mean, I know that's odd, but have you maybe thought that you might be taking this the wrong way?"
"What do you mean?"
Tankie sighed. "What if he's just trying to get you to trust him maybe."
Laten sat on a desk. "That's what I thought, but if that is all it is, then why am I feeling that I need to be away from him as far as possible?"
Tankie walked over to him. "We just have to wait until it all plays out."
Laten sighed. "The kids come back on Friday."
Tankie nodded. "And we'll be here when Bryan and them come back. "
Laten sadly smiled. "Yeah..."
Tankie sighed. "We'll get through this. Together." He kissed Laten. "I promise."
Laten sighed. "When will this all blow over though?"
