Laten and Tankie kissed each other until they started to get cold. Tankie helped Laten out of the water and they started to get their clothes back on. “I’m glad this really helps you, Laten.” Tankie said.

Laten smiled. “It does. I-it helps a lot. H-Have you ever suffered from Insomnia?”

Tankie put on his shirt. “No. I do have some nights where I just can’t sleep, but…actually having insomnia, no.”

Laten chucked, “It’s a pain in the ass.”

“I’ll bet it is.” Tankie laughed. “You know what your father said to me, earlier today, when I went to help you with your homework?” Tankie put on his shoes, as was Laten.

“What did he say?”

Tankie was laughing. “He hinted that he thought we might be doing something else, if you know what I mean. “

Laten rolled his eyes. “Nothing like that.” Laten jumped on the gate and started to climb.

Tankie shook his head smiling. “I know, right?” Tankie jumped on the gate , climbed, and jumped off the gate also.

“You didn’t swim.” Laten said.

Tankie just shrugged. “I didn’t want to. I just wanted to put my feet in…and see you swim. I gotta say, you look hot when your swimming.” He smiled.

Laten blushed as they started to walk. “On a more lighter note, I think my godfather has a little something for my father, but I don’t know. I mean, I know because I’ve seen how they look at each other.”

Tankie hummed. “I wouldn’t know. I haven’t like….really got to know your godfather enough to know.”

“Oh. I wonder if I’m imagining it.” Laten said.

“I don’t think you are. You observe too much.” Tankie joked.

They held hands as they walked back to the house.

Laten climbed through his window back inside his room with Tankie following him.

Laten laid back down on his bed. “I- I really do love you, Tankie.”

His boyfriend smiled. “As do I to you. I love you too.”

“I mean, you’re always there for me. Every step of the way. Even when I treated you like crap you were still there, and yet, here I am, acting like I’m always the victim. It’s a surprise that you’ve never snapped at me.”

Tankie sighed. “You’ve been through a lot. Your mother’s death, your P.T.S.D, the bullying, I mean, you kinda have a right.” Tankie told him.

Laten sighed. “Yeah, maybe. I just want you to know how much I appreciate you. I never take you for granted, even though I may seem like it.”

Tankie smiled. “I know. Trust me.”

There was silence, then Laten heard a creek in the hallway.

“You better go, before my father gets here.” Laten whispered.

Tankie nodded. “Alright.” He gave Laten a kiss before climbing back out the window, and he shut the window silently.

Laten quickly turned over and pretended he was asleep, right when Chuck opened the door. He smiled as he saw Laten in bed. It’s not like he didn’t know what was going on. He knew that Laten and Tankie have started sneaking out. He should be really mad right now, but he can’t bring himself to be mad. He’s gotta give this kid a break. He trusts Tankie. Tankie is a good kid, so really, there was nothing to worry about. He was almost positive that Tankie was taking him some place that was completely harmless. He was always back after about 2 hours, so, there really was nothing to worry about from Chuck’s point of view.
