Ryan felt confused as he watched his godson walk out his door. It wasn't that he didn't know what Laten was talking about, it is how he knew that confused him the most. Laten wasn't a dumb kid. He just proved that. Ryan did have a small thing that he barley even looked at. He just saw it as a small crush. Nothing more did he think of it like that. He just passed it off. He just thought of it as a best friend caring for his best friend as a brother would.
Now, Ryan has this...protective instinct for Chuck. He knew Chuck wasn't holding up. He really let himself go. Being a workaholic and all. The crash did everybody a great deal of damage. Chuck must be blaming himself for letting her go, because she was called in to work. They move to get a better start, and instead, it's worse.
What's left of the family is starting to fall apart instead of bringing them back together. Faith made Ryan Laten's Godfather. He has to find a way to protect this family from being torn apart. He's got to find a way to let them reunite them.
Faith would have wanted him to do that. Even though she's dead, Ryan still feels as though it's his responsibility. Feels as if it's his duty to her.
He loves Faith like a sister. He would do anything for her. He was her right hand man.
He won't let her down.
