Chapter 3

A 'few' glasses later, Jenna gently held Matt's wrists so he couldn't pour another glass (his hands were also unstable). "Aw, Jen, come on..." Matt's words were slurred together.
Jenna, who was more self-disciplined about drinking, laughed softly. "One more glass and you'll pass out, Matt."
"Please Jen? Please?" His eyes got big and sweet.
"No!" She had to be firm so she wouldn't give into his innocent face that made her melt every time she saw it.
"Jenna-Louise, please?" He rhymed in a singsong way that stole her heart even more.
She broke. "Fine. But one only." She let go of his wrists.
Matt poured the champagne into his glass and downed it in 6 seconds flat.
"Okay, enough." Jenna took the bottle and emptied its contents into the kitchen sink, washing both the finished bottles till they sparkled. She returned to where Matt was.
He stood up, wobbled, and sat back on the sofa. "Oooffff."
Jenna was admittedly a bit drunk too. Not like Matt, but definitely enough to fall deep asleep.
Which is exactly what they did.
On that tiny sofa.
Together.
*the next morning*
Jenna woke first and for a moment was alarmed at the way her dress had hiked up a lot. But then she remembered that they were out the whole night.
After pulling her dress down to the appropriate length, she shook Matt gently. "Matt?"
"Ugh..." he groaned and rolled over.
"Matt.... breakfast!"
That woke him quickly. "Breakfast?" He sat up immediately.
Jenna giggled. "Sorry, nope. Just kidding."
Matt looked around tentatively. "What happened last night?" he asked, a worried look etched across his face.
"Nothing too bad... Don't worry."
"Good." He stood up carefully and tested his balance. "Well, I guess I'd better go."
Jenna nodded. "Sure you can drive home?" She didn't want him to drive drunk and get arrested, or worse, get in a car crash.
"Yeah, I'm good now. Bye." He hugged her, then left the house, taking Jenna's happy butterfly feelings with him.
