Laying down on my bed. Facing where Barnes had laid the night before, a strange fluttering feeling swarmed my insides. Holy shit. I thought, a man in my bed.
I hadn't even experienced love, nonetheless the feel of someones arms. The feeling is so foreign to me that it almost felt endearing. No he killed your last family, I tried convincing myself, he is a bad man like father.
A sudden knock makes me sit up. "Y/N." I hear Barnes yell from the other side of the door. My stomach flutters again. I walk to the door and open it slowly. Barnes looks at me like he's taken aback a bit. "I just wanted to know how you're holding up."
I look at him blankly. "Holding up?"
He smiles slightly. "The fight we just had." He begins to lean on the door frame.
"Ooh, the fight." I nod. "I'm doing alright, small bruises."
His smile becomes bigger, making my stomach flutter even more. "That's good, you can handle some roughing around."
"How are you holding up Barnes?" My expression still being blank, not knowing how to react to this new found feeling.
"I'm doing alright." His smile still remaining, with his blue grey eyes smiling with him. We both stand there a bit awkward staring at each other in awe of the other. After a minute or two he forces a small cough. "Anyway Steve wants to know if you want to go out to eat with us?"
I tilt my head a little. "Us?"
"Nat, Tony, Steve, and me." He counted on his fingers. "And if you decide to join, that's five." He then holds his hand out.
"Alright, I'll join." I said as I put his hand down with mine. "I just need to get ready, so give me a minute."
"Take your time." He responds.
I nod and close the door. I swear his smile grew wider when it closed.
