In the world of football... It is possible to produce elite goalkeepers, defenders and midfielders.

However, the same cannot be said for strikers.

After all, a first-rate striker is one who appears in football's most critical moments.

This passage has been going around ever since football was founded. It is said, that Japanese football can only do so much without a proper striker.

But is that true? I have my doubts. If a first-rate striker arrived at football's most critical moments, what could be said for those who scores frequently. Or the ones who believes to have the most talent. Is it necessary to pull a last minute goal to be considered the best. Or is it because of people's own opinions.

There is still no clear answer. It falls through the criteria of football.

Whatever the answer may be, I will search for it. I have received the opportunity to find it along with other factors.

Standing in front of me, stood Japan Football Association building. I was given the opportunity, or rather, force into becoming a selection of their upcoming project. If it weren't for some help, I wouldn't be able to enter. I have to thank 'that man' for it.

Sigh

They were many not known faces of dudes entering the building. I noticed the weird glances they're giving me. Weird. Oh wait, I'm standing in front of the building, blocking the entrance.

I quickly moved to the side, not to disturb the people entering. It be awkward if I stood there longer.

Okay, stop for a moment. Take a deep breath. All right, here we go!

With nowhere else to go, I made my way towards the gates. There's nothing that could possibly g—

Thum!

I bump into someone.

“Oh! Sorry. Didn't see you there.” an orange-haired guy held his hand towards me.

“It's fine, it happens anytime,” I said. But on a interesting note, when I bumped into him, I had an understanding of his muscles which are well developed.

“Well since it got to this, I'm Ayanokouji Kiyotaka. It's nice to meet you.” for starters, I'll try to have a connection with the people here.

It'd be bad if I remain as an outcast. With some influence, I could make plans for what's about to come.

From what I heard about tryouts, having connection with other participants can prove to be very vital.

“I'm Kunigami Rensuke. Nice to meet ya,” Kunigami said, we shook hands.

“Do you know, why we are called out here?” I ask, initiating a conversation.

“I don't know, Japan Football Association called us to be here. Perhaps we've been scouted,” Kunigami replied.

“If that's the case, I don't think I'd be scouted,” I inferred. It was true, I don't know what a scout would look into a player.

“I don't know about you but I'm confident on my abilities as a striker. If there is a tryout, I'll face the other strikers fair and square,” he spoke, with determination.

“You're devoted into this. What if they are other strikers better than you?” I ask, curious about his answer.

“I haven't seen the players yet, so I can't tell. But I'll face them if needed,” he answered. “Speaking of it, what's your position?” Kunigami ask.
