Prolouge; A Golden Window

They say the sea is bluer than sparkling gems as it shimmers across the horizon. The sun shines down as birds fly overhead a large castle which is the home of a young prince who is now at the age of 7 years.

"I am the most beautiful prince in the land!" The prince declared looking into a golden hand mirror while his friend Mark just sighed at his friend's vanity.

"Your highness, you've said that 5 times already..." He pointed out.

"I only say the truth! >:(" Matt pouted as he held the golden mirror crested with an M. Mark just laughed as he sat on his friend's bed, feeling the velvet pillows on his back. Matt just spun around the room singing to himself when-

His hand loosened and the golden mirror flew out the window and landed into the sea.

"NOOOOOO!" Matt sobbed as Mark ran and looked through the window to find it splash into the navy waters.

"There there..." he tried to comfort him.

"Im sure theres another one in the palace vaults..." Matt sniffled as he left with Mark in a slump knowing the mirror would probably be stuck under the waves on a bunch of white sand.

But little did the prince know that there lived a whole world under the surface, full of life and people like him, only with no feet but rather, a fish tail on the lower half...

A young merman with a green fishtail sat on a rock doodling in the sand many little pictures as a tiny blue crab was at his side. The merman's name was Edd and the crab's name was Tom. Edd was 6 and a half years old and was very talkative and joyful. Tom was rather young and cared about nothing, usually hating everything except playing Susan, his beloved sea harp.

"Whats that supposed to be?" Tom asked as Edd put down the stick.

"Its one of those weird whales the float overhead!" Edd said cheerfully as he looked at the drawing meant to be in the shape of a ship. He had also doodled pictures of fish, shells, and even little merfolk as he had no idea of what the humans were or the fact they lived above the seas. Then a splash was heard from above as a sparkling object fell down in front of the merman and his companion. Edd swam towards it and picked it up, it was made of gold and had a mysterious glass that reflected his round face and gentle brown eyes. "What is it?" Tom asked, slightly curious. Edd squinted and flipped it over to find an M encrested on the back, how odd...
