"OUCH!"

Matt yelped as a seamstress poked a needle into the fabric of his shirt. He was being prepared for his 20th birthday and was currently being measured. OH BOY HOW HE HATED EVERY SECOND OF IT! But he had to suck it up, it was a big day... He couldn't let a few pins ruin it all for him. After a bunch of poking, Matt managed to get properly dressed for the party. He was put in a fine purple jacket with gold trimming and cufflinks. A green ribbon was tied on his waist along with a soft white dress shirt was underneath the jacket.

He sat in his room while Mark prepped his face for the voyage, bored and tired.

"Something on your mind Matt?" Mark asked as he powdered the prince's face. Matt let out a sigh then faced the mirror to brush the hair out of his eyes.

"Just thinking about things..." He admitted.

Truth be told, he didn't expect his life to go on this quickly... As a child he wanted the day he became grown up enough to rule a kingdom to come faster than a bullet. But now, he dreaded this moment. He didn't feel ready for all that responsiblity, or that he was getting older. He wished he'd have more time when doing little things, like looking at himself in the mirror, but now he wished he had more time more than ever... Mark patted his back with comfort.

"Don't be sad Matt... Im sure you'll be a great ruler for the kingdom." He reassured while applying violet powder to Matt's eyes. The two had as much in common as a chalk stick would with a banjo, but they seemed like brothers who stuck by eachother's sides. Matt eventually left the castle walls to the dock. A bunch of party guests were on the ship and were buzzling with life and joy. Matt took a deep breath and headed onboard as Mark followed along with the many sailors of the ship.

"You look wonderful your highness!" A guest woth a fancy yellow necklace complimented.

"Very grown up!" Another added.

Matt smiled and felt rather full of himself at the compliments. "Oh thank you. I am gorgeous aren't I!" He chuckled as many guests laughed with him. Eventually the ship was moved from the dock and out to sea, the M crest of the kingdom on the sail that glided with the wind.

The sea was fresh and light as birds flew across the sky, fish jumping out of the waves to sparkle their glittering scales in the light. Matt was enjoying this view as many guests danced and cheered, wine flowing freely as many guests feasted on the many exquiste dishes. Mark wasnt having too much fun as he got seasick easily and often hurled on the side of the ship. Ringo just meowed and ran around the ship floors chasing apples that fell from barrels as a form of entertainment, biting them with her tiny little fangs.

The ship rolled down the tides as the party went on, the clouds turning gray and dark. The sun changed the skies like a painter using a canvas as it seemed to morph from pure blue, to golden red and violet, to deep darkness illuminated by the glowing stars and the gentle gaze of the moon which marked the start of an unexpected encounter between land and sea...
