KISS THE GUY

Edd was confused seeing the contraption on the water. Seemed to be made of wood and two sticks were apparently supposed to row it as Matt explained to him earlier. Matt grabbed his hand and guided him to the boat as they sat down.

"Hope you arent afraid of the water!" Matt chuckled as Edd just smiled knowing he'll feel rather at home when at the water. The prince began to row the boat across the blue lake as the sounds of chirping crickets echoed across the night.

Tom and Tord were watching them from the long tall reed grass as Matt and Edd row across.

"OH THIS IS AWFUL! ONLY ONE DAY LEFT!" Tom panicked, Edd would definitely turn back into a merman at this rate. Tord then had an idea.

"I KNOW, ILL USE MY BEAUTIFUL VOICE!" He cheered as Tom stared mortified. Seagulls didnt have the BEST voices compared to the other birds so Tom attempted to stop him but Tord then squawked out;

"LAAAAAAAA LAAAAAAAAAA LAAAAAAAA LAAAAAAAA LAAAAAAAAA"

Tom face palmed, oh dear god he really decided to work with this idiot?!

Matt cringed hearing the loud squawking as Edd just put his face in his hands. Oh god, Tord really was doing that.

"Someone should find that poor thing and put it out of its misery" Matt laughed as Edd just nodded awkwardly. It was rather quiet except for the rowing sounds and the whistling winds along with the sounds of animals.

Tord frowned annoyed after stopping.

"WHY DIDNT IT WORK >:(" He stepped his foot as Tom scuttled over to grab a reed, if Tord couldnt do it, hed do it himself. He went to the animals of the lake and asked them for help, which they gladly agreed to.

"We've got to create the mood~"

Percussion

The ducks started to pat on the logs making a drumlike sound.

Strings

Crickets began making stinglike chirps.

The wind blew across the lakes.

Tom sat on the reeds next to the boat and began whispering in Matt's ear;

There you see him

He don't got a lot to say

"Did you hear something?" Matt asked as Edd innocently shrugged knowing what Tom was pulling right now.

Matt felt his face flush. Was he telling himself  to kiss Edd? Should he? His thoughts were interrupted as he tried to focus and rowing the boat across the lake.

Edd just sighed knowing Matt was hesitating, he knew he was being respectful and he loved that about him, but he wished he'd just make a move... Tom turned the animals of the lake and gestured;

Just like that, the animals joined in, *after muffling Tord so he wouldnt screw this up with his horrid voice*

Edd just felt the water with his fingertips and looked at the water lilies on the lake, as Matt just stared at him lovingly. He couldn't find the man who saved him, but he felt so much happier knowing Edd was here with him...

"Edd, I want to confess something to you..." he said and took Edd's hand in his as the boat floated under a large willow tree with fireflies surrounding them.

Matt took a deep breath and spoke up;

"Edd, you've made this day one of the greatest of my life, you understand me more than anyone, and... I really love that about you..." he flushed as Edd felt his heart flutter and leap in his chest. The two slowly moved in closer, noses almost touching, Edd closed his eyes preparing for a kiss.

*SPLASH*

The boat tipped over, knocking Edd and Matt over and into the water. Tom screamed in frustration as the animals frowned in disappointment.

Matt got Edd out of the water and to the shore as Tom followed them, unaware of the eel's tail that flickered in the water for a moment before disappearing entirely.
