Ch 44

By the weekend, Armin and Mikasa came to visit Eren at his new apartment.

They caught up on what each of them were upto, since their graduation took place.

Mikasa, like she had said before, had already started training in the institution her parents worked for. And Armin's classes too had begun.

But what Eren and Mikasa were more interested in was the relationship going on between Armin and Annie. And as they asked their teasing and embarrassing questions...Armin grew redder and redder, trying to hide his face with his palms.

"Will you both stop!" he finally yells, fanning himself, as sweat had began to run down his face.

"Come on, you can at least answer the first one. So when was it?" Eren says as he tries to control his laughter.

Armin glances at the both of them, still feeling embarrassed but then answers in a low tone.

"...not yet."

Neither of them seemed to be surprised by hearing the answer, but now finally stopped their uncontrollable laughter.

"Ah, well I pretty much thought" Eren said as he stretched out his arms

"If you knew then why'd you ask." Armin retaliates "I just don't want to rush into anything" he continues, but again buries his face into his hands.

"Armin, we know. But have you asked her about it?" Mikasa asks normally

"N-No...but how am I supposed to bring up such a topic anyway!" Armin whines as he lays on the ground

"You're really taking a kiss as that big a deal huh?" Eren rhetorics

"Well not everyone is extremely used to it like you." Armin snaps

"I'm not used to it!" Eren says through his teeth with a pissed off smile as he kicks Armin.

At first Armin was confused and was about to kick him back, but then realizes that Eren was referring to Mikasa, who he didn't want hearing that.

"You don't have to be so wary of me, Eren, I'm fine'' Mikasa answers in an emotionless tone and gets up to go to the restroom.

Eren looked at her going, and got a feeling of guilt again, hovering over him.

"You shouldn't worry about her too much, it's like she said, she'll eventually get over it." Armin reassures him, trying not to get anyone feeling down.

Eren just nodded at him, and even though he still couldn't properly let go of the feeling, still tried brightening up his mood for the sake of the two of them.

They stayed there for a couple more hours, until it was finally time for them to separate again.

They encircle into a cute group hug before Armin departures, taking the last train to his place.

Mikasa too, was about to leave, and even walked away, but then suddenly turned back. She went towards Eren, fast walking and gripped onto him tightly for only a short moment and then let go.

Eren, a bit taken aback, still gently patted her head and smiled at her.

A few days went by with Eren spreading most of his time in his apartment with Levi and now there were only two days left for the holidays to get over.

Eren was sitting beside Levi, marking a few dates on the calendar while Levi, leaning on the other end of the sofa with his legs up, was engrossed in a book.

"Hey Levi, are you going back tomorrow?" Eren asks while still looking at the calendar

"Considering that the school starts the day after, obviously." Levi replies, glancing his eyes up from the book. "...why ask?"

"Nothing... I'll just miss you." Eren says still looking down

"I've been here the whole week. Not planning on letting go?" Levi ask sarcastically

Eren then looks towards Levi and gives a slight smirk, before moving forwards, laying his head on Levi's chest and keeping his arm around his waist.

"No, it's not that. Plus it's not like we're going to stop meeting."

"We're both going to get very busy, I suggest taking a short break." Levi says, as he softly strokes Eren's hair

"And what if I say no." Eren answers smoothly

"Then I would rather not argue with you, you stubborn brat, '' Levi says, sighing and ruffleing up his hair. "...what's with the calendar?" he asks after noticing it, still in Eren's other hand.

"Oh, this" Eren looks at it, bringing it up to his face "now that you've brought up the topic, I have something I want to ask."

Levi slightly scoffs and smiles to himself  "..I already know what you want to ask." he says

Eren looks at him with a little suspicion but still asks what

"...Anniversary." Levi answers tilting his head a bit

"Ahh, you're sharp" Eren teases and moves up to give Levi a peck on the lips

"You're just too transparent" Levi continues his mild neutral tone of voice.

"I just want to ask which date you want to keep it?" Eren asks innocently

"I thought you were planning on keeping it the graduation date"

"I was...until I remembered two things. First, you're going to be busy on that day every year. And second...'' Eren takes a pause looking into Levi's eyes but then nuzzles his head into his chest, getting flustered  "I really don't want to keep it that since it wasn't when it got together." he whines

This statement leaves Levi speechless, but only for a second and he then starts chucking softly.

He brings both his hands and holds Eren's cheeks, making him look at him.

"You can keep whichever date you prefer." he says tenderly

"Then what about when I came to visit you?" Eren's asks, as eyes glint up a bit

"Yeah you can keep it that" Levi nonchalantly answered

Eren's uneasiness had disappeared by then and he then looks at Levi as he squints his eyes a little.

"...You don't really care about which date I keep, do you?" he asks, as a mischievous smile slowly forms on his face.

"No, not particularly" said Levi

"Ok...I see. On second thought, I think I'll keep it the day you kissed me in your cabin. After all, that is where it all began," Eren says, teasing Levi.

Levi's calm expression immediately changes after hearing this and he catches onto the fact that Eren was very obviously playing with him.

"Just keep it the day you visited me" he says slowly, trying to not sound too irritated

"Why? I thought you don't care." Eren continuous his playful tone and smirks at him

Levi takes in a deep breath and looks away for a moment, before looking back Eren

"Fine, I care. Happy?" he says as he holds his forehead

"Why would I be happy? I don't care, if you don't care-" Eren says shrugging his shoulders, hiding his smile with his palm

Levi grabs Eren's head then, bringing it closer to his face

"Don't act smart. If you're happy, just say you are." Levi says sharply in a whispering tone, glaring at him

"Yeah, ok, I'm happy" Eren finally says, chuckling and takes Levi's hands down by the wrist, moving closer, to kiss Levi deeply, as Levi wraps his hands around Eren, kissing his back.
