Glass-ceiling gate looms:
Wears dresses, wrong chromosomes
Skin not light enough

AN: Of all the issues in society, the one I feel the most passionately about is discrimination (probably because I'm female, non-white and mixed race). But I never really wrote about it until I started seeing it much more close to home. Recently, one of my friends (who's in a different class from the rest of my friends) was snubbed by a bunch of people who a) assumed erroneously that she was Asian and b) discriminated against her based on that assumption. One of my other friends immediately went to give those people a piece of her mind, instead I went home and wrote about it.
Inspiration: I was inspired to write this poem in haiku form after reading a bunch of awesome haikus at the link at the bottom. (this poem is dedicated to the writer of said haikus).
The title is inspired by the famous words from Ender's Game (which happens to be my second favourite book of all time) "The enemy gate is down".
See above for my long anecdotal subject matter inspiration.

Anarchy
PoezieAnarchy. A swirl of topics: emotions, allusions to history, social issues... And somewhere in the maelstrom comes forth rhymes and prose. Note: If you can't be bothered to read all the poems (quite understandably), I've starred the better ones.
