It's hard to suffer nobly
Like they always want you to
It's hard to not do something
That wouldn't let you do
It's easy to navigate the sea
Your only compass: the stars
It's easy, easy, so very easy
Except your past could put you behind bars.
It's harder to lead a life
Where whispers choke your chest
Than lead a life in fields
Where there's barely any rest
It's harder to be a rebel
Then to wait for aid from the West
It's hard to resist their smiles and jokes
But that's what I do best
White moves the king to g8
What the heck?
My move.
Queen to e8
Check.
Mate.

AN: This is the companion poem to 'Easy'.
Inspiration: I had just finished 'Easy' and I thought about writing a poem from the victim's point of view.

Anarchy
PoetryAnarchy. A swirl of topics: emotions, allusions to history, social issues... And somewhere in the maelstrom comes forth rhymes and prose. Note: If you can't be bothered to read all the poems (quite understandably), I've starred the better ones.
