L O U I S

Today's my first day at work again since the death of the love of my life.

My workmates wish me all the best and tell me how sorry they are and all that but I don't listen.

I only look through the window of my office to the bakery where the love of my life worked as the cashier.

He always stood near the window and sent me invisible kisses and smiled at me, cheekly.

Tears appear in my sight and I stand in front of the window, frozen.

I just want everything to be as it was before he left.

But nothing would be normal ever again.

- EIGHT YEARS AGO -

„Hi. Can I have a mixed rye-"

My breath hitched inside of my throat and I remained silent, too paralyzed by looking into the most beautiful eyes and face in the whole world.

Green eyes. Dimples. Curls.

Jesus. Fuck me.

„...bread?"

„Y-Yeah. Bread. A mixed...mixed"

„Rye bread. I understood what you said, don't worry. Wait a quick second.....Here. Your mixed rye bread."

„Thank you."

„It's my job but you're welcome, I guess...Can I have your number?"

„You-"

„Is this going too fast for you? I am sorry if it's. Really. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to put pressure on you in any way. I just- God, I am so sorry."

„No. It's okay. It's not too fast. Texting eachother isn't going to harm anyone, is it?"

„Not that I know. Unless you're a serial killer."

„Don't worry, I am not."

„What's going to stop us then? Can I write it down on your arm?"

„Sure."

His touch sent shivers up my spine and I bit my bottom lip to not smile too wide and look like some creep.

„My name's Harry. Harry Styles. What's yours?"

„Louis. Louis Tomlinson."

„That's a very beautiful name for a very beautiful boy."

„Thank you. Your name's awesome too. You're awesome in general. And I mean very awesome."

Harry smiled at me and bit his lip to prevent himself from laughing.

„Thamk you, Lou. Is it okay for you if I call you that?"

„Yeah, of course. I like the nickname Lou."

„Me too. Very much."

We were only nineteen.

Now, I know the answer to the question what would stop us.

The only thing that stopped us from hugging, touching, kissing, laughing, smiling, talking, walking & sleeping together, was Death. Harry's death.
