prologue

a new school year was starting for the students of seoul.
kids were excitedly running to meet their friends after a long break.

lee miki was peacefully walking down the hallway looking for her classroom.
she didn't understand the excitement of the other students.
to her school was just a responsibility among others.

"lee miki! wait up!"

the cries of a running kim sunoo could be heard behind her.

although miki was at the top of her class, she wasn't a popular student.
that resulted in her having very few friends with the closest one being kim sunoo, who was the opposite of her.

"hello class! we have a new student joining us all the way from japan. you may greet the class"

the young boy fidgeted with the hem of his shirt as he looked around the classroom.

his nervous expression softened as he locked eyes with her.

miki on the other hand couldn't explain how she felt at that moment. the boy hadn't yet spoken a word but she was already irritated by his presence. his face.

the teacher assigned him to sit a few seats away from miki. she could feel him occasionally glancing at her which only irritated her more.

that was only the beginning to years of mental torment for her.
