Diamondback and Bubble walked down the halls to the library, but Prince Bubble had no idea why, but he trusted that Diamondback knew what he was doing, mostly because he had no idea where to start.

Bubble could see his amber and golden earring hanging from Diamondback's ear, flopping back and forth as the rough stormy winds whipped around them.

Bubble shuddered lightly as the chilled winds blasted them, but he just bit his lip and continued to follow Diamondback's lead. One thing was in the back of Bubble's mind. He felt his scales tingle as though he was being watched. He felt a pair of piercing eyes on him, and he HATED it. He needed to get to the library now!

When they arrived at the Library, Diamondback walked up to the front desk, "Hi Starflight."

Bubble could see the worry on Starflight's face, and he saw he kept glancing in a specific direction repeatedly, even though he was blind. Bubble looked over in the direction that the NightWing librarian was, and noticed a flapping leaf cover on one of the windows, which looked like it could fall off at any moment. He could see the rain coming in through some of the smaller holes in the window.

Bubble walked over to the window and grabbed the edges. It looked like it was ripped or cut cleanly, which worried Bubble, but he didn't put much thought into it. Bubble pulled on the edges so it stretched, and tucked them underneath some of the vines lining the edges. He let go of the cover, and it stayed in place. Bubble looked back over at Starflight, whose ears were twitching as he listened to the quiet from the no longer flapping leaf cover and the soft pitter-patter of the rain staying out of the library.

Bubble walked back over to the desk and noticed Starflight nodding his thanks to Bubble out of the corner of his eye. Bubble smiled, not just because he got thanked for something he did or the fact that he did something kind, but because he did it without someone asking, and it felt good.

"Thanks, Bubble. What were you saying, Diamondback?"

The NightWing twisted around to face Diamondback, "can we get a list of the students attending the school please?"

"Sure thing Diamondback, you know, your sister was in here earlier but she just ran out," Starflight said as he searched below the desk. He handed a scroll to him and turned back around to what he was doing earlier.

"We should get going now. Thanks, Starflight!"

When they left the library Bubble couldn't hold in the question anymore. He needed to know why Diamondback was getting a list of all the students. Did he have a plan? Was he not taking Bubble seriously and just focusing on his own thing?

"Why do we need a list of students? I mean, not everyone is a part of this, I don't think." Bubble started to panic. What if EVERYONE WAS APART OF THIS? THE WHOLE SCHOOL... No. He needed to stop worrying like a squirrel that is surrounded by a pack of hungry wolves.

Diamondback turned toward Bubble with a slightly quizzical look on him. He just shrugged and said, "You'll see"

They arrived at their cave, but to their surprise, they saw Prince Boris. The IceWing Prince was laying on his bed where there was a mat of polar bear fur that replaced the once melting snow. He was reading a real scroll, unlike what Diamondback was doing. Bubble could see that it was a history scroll from this far back, just by reading the title.

The Scorching and Beyond

Bubble and Diamondback walked over to a small corner of the room where there was a flat stone, and they unrolled the scroll of the student list. Bubble expected to find a list of the current students, but instead, they found a list of students for every year. The first year was at the top of the list, and as Diamondback finished uncovering the list of first-year students, he stopped and held it there.

There were five winglets, each one with seven students. Bubble was looking through the list, but then he looked over and saw Diamondback staring at one place on the scroll. Bubble looked at where Diamondback was, and. Then he saw exactly what he was looking at.

Jade Winglet:

IceWing: Winter

MudWing: Umber

NightWing: Moonwatcher

RainWing: Kinkajou

SandWing: Qibli

SeaWing: Turtle

SkyWing: Carnelian

Bubble saw that Diamondback had found their parents' winglet. Diamondback slightly brushed his right talon over the Jade Winglet, while still looking at it. Bubble never knew that the tough and "serious" NightWing SandWing could make himself so vulnerable. Bubble didn't know if he should look away, or do something else, or do the same, or something like that. He is not the best at social situations.

He must be thinking about his parents. I wonder what his life was like. I remember that when I was little, I used to be afraid of the water. HA! Just imagine, a SeaWing afraid of water.

He remembered that one day when he was about one, he was at the beach, while his parents were talking, he got as close as he could to the water, but he couldn't get into the water. He was just too scared. He used to run back to the sand trying to avoid the tide that came in and out of the beach. He also remembered turning around and was about to walk back when he heard a voice behind him.

"Hi!" the voice behind him said. Bubble jumped what felt like three feet in the air. The person behind him laughed, and Bubble felt so embarrassed he didn't have the courage to turn to see his haunter. The laughing died down, and he turned around to see who it was, but all he saw was the lapping waves. Suddenly he felt someone tap him on the shoulder behind him and he jumped again. He quickly swerved around to see who it was. He saw a sapphire blue dragon on its back dying of laughter. He swatted at the dragon, but they dodged it.

They fell over on their back giggling and snoring every once and a while. Bubble felt a blush plastered on his face, and he attempted to hide it by fake coughing. It worked partially, but he still knew there was a hint of blush still on his cheeks.

"Hi, I'm Spray! Who are you?" the blue dragon asked. Bubble stood there staring at them.

He has seen other SeaWings, but none were close to his age. Most were about the age of his parents, or they were older. Bubble swore that one time one of the SeaWings that visited was immortal because they looked about as old as a fossil.

This new SeaWing was sleek and had super polished shiny scales. They opened their wings and the light of the sun shone through them. Bubble could see their veins in their wings. He looked at the sand which was now tinted blue from the light that was shining through the new dragon's wings.

Should I tell them? On one talon, they are a stranger and I should not just tell strangers everything, but on the other talon, they are the first chance I have to get a friend. I... Am... Going... To... Do... It! I will tell them.

Bubble took a deep breath, getting the courage to be more social. He was ready. This is the first friend he is going to make.

He shook out his wings and took a step toward them. They tilted their head at him and waited patiently.
