“STOP TRYING TO GIVE ME THE MEDICINE,” Katsuki yelled, “I SAID NOTHING HURTS '' Mitsuki opened the door to find her son fighting the nurse over taking his medication and uping his morphine dose. Why did everything have to be a fight for him, why can't he accept the fact that he's not invincible.“Sir, you have a fever of 102, please take the medi and” the nurse was trying to restrain him long enough to put it in his mouth but failed
“KATSUKI BAKUGO, TAKE THE DAM MEDS.” Mitsuki yelled, scaring the nurse and her son, who glared at her until his eyes hurt
“SHUT IT OLD HAG, IM FINE" Katsuki said, taking a sharp painful breath before sitting up.
“DON'T TAKE THAT TONE WITH ME YOU BRAT,” Mitsuki said walking over and slapping the back of his head, “IF YOU HADN’T BEEN SO RECKLESS WE BE HERE," Mitsuki sighed staring at the petrified nurse, "Katsuki, please take the medication."
"Fine." he hissed taking the pills from the nurse, who quick left the room
"Why does everything have to be a fight with you," Mitsuki said, sitting down in a chair and staring at her son, "why can't you understand that you're not invincible, that you're not some super-human with no weakness. You're not All Might, you can't get yourself almost killed and just walk it off," Katsuki laid staring out the window, ignoring his mother, how is he supposed to tell her that if he's not strong, of he doesn't pretend he's invincible, he'll lose his self worth, he's nothing without the facade, "answer me when i'm speaking to you."
"Whatever, just forget about it." He mumbled it his pillow
"What?" Mitsuki said, little annoyed
"I SAID FORGET ABOUT IT, OKAY. GOSH"
"Katsuki I'm not.."
*SHUT UP," he said sitting up and resting his head on his knees, "just, shut up and stop caring already. Everyone else has."
"Katsuki, no one's stopped caring about you."
"Yes they have," he said, turning his head to look out the window, "When I was rescued from the League of Villains, not one person asked if I was okay, instead they praised me for being strong and resisting them. And then everyone was clambering all over pour Deku, who's as fragile as a flower," Katsuki laid back down so that his whole body was facing the window again, "even you didn't care."
"That's not true…"
"Yes it is. You picked me up from the police station and we sat in silence until you told me that if I hadn't been so weak, I wouldn't have been caught," His mother had a tendency to deny things, especially when it came to things she said towards Katsuki. Just thinking about it and how everyone he looked up to failed him made Katsuki angrily. He could feel the tears swelling up, but he couldn’t cry. Not in front of his mother, "go." He said softly
"Katsuki plea-"
"Leave. They're serving lunch right now. You're gonna miss it." Mitsuki hesitantly got up, staring back at her son before leaving. Katsuki didn't hesitate to put his earbuds in and turn them all the way up, he didn’t care that the nurses told him not to, he had enough of following the rules. Katsuki hit shuffle on a playlist Kirishima made him, laid back, and began listening.
River by BRKN LOVE began playing and it made Katsuki chuckle. Kirishima had walked in on him singing this while playing the electric guitar and began playing the drums, proving Kirishima's point that Katsuki does know how to have fun and isn't always a downer.
"Shut your mouth, baby stand and deliver," Katsuki whispered into the hospital pillow, smacking the side of the bed to the beat, " holy hands, will they make me a sinner?" A tear rolled down Katsuki's face as he thought about how he really screwed up. Nothing will ever go back to normal. Shoto and Uraraka will always hate Bakugo, Deku will probably die and his mother will blame him, he'll never be able to go back to UA and become a hero, and Kirishima will probably never look at him the same. Why couldn't he just keep his cool instead of taking all the guilt he felt out on Deku?
Katsuki rolled over and stared at the ceiling, his mom had a point. Why did everything have to be a fight for him? Why can't he accept the fact that people will outshine him and be stronger. Why is he always running towards danger? Katsuki’s thoughts were interrupted by an incoming video call from Kirishima
A/N: Sorry for the cringe
