Kirishima laid on the floor, watching an unconscious Bakugo breath, per the 119 operator's instructions, and making sure he didn't stop

'The paramedics should be there soon,' she said, her voice breaking the deafening silence in the house, 'please stay on the line till they get there.' Kirishima wanted to say something, let her know he was still there, but not saying anything and holding very still was the only thing keeping him from freaking out.

It flet like an eternity lying in the fetal position, watching his friend slowly die while waiting for the paramedics to show up.

"How is he?" Kirishima tried to tell her but it only came out ad a whisper, "sir?" Why now? Why did fear have paralyze him now, this isn't how ypu become a hero. Heros don't sit and watch the ones they love die, "sir, is he doing okay?"

"No," Kirishima finally managed to say, "his, his breathing is slowly de," he tried to fight back the tears, but failed, "de-declining. And its become more shallow."

"It's going to be okay. The ambulance is almost there." Her voice had a calming effect on Kirishima

"Thats what you said five minutes ago." He whispered into his arm, just before the paramedics busrt through the door. One helped Kirishima up and moved him aside, to watch as they swarmed around Bakugo, the deafening silence was finally broken.

"Sir, we need you to stay in the ambulance with them" a short, young women led Kirishima by the hand to the back of the ambulance where Bakugo laid, with an oxygen mask, on a stretcher. Kirishima was able to breathe better after the ambulance took off, knowing that Bakugo was in good hands and they'd be at the hospital soon.

Everything went by in slow motion on the way there,  the events of the last 2 hours finally settling in. How did this happen? Bakugo was always super chill, despite his bickering and name calling. And sure, he'd have cuts and bruises every now and then but no one ever questioned because he was always getting inor fights. I'm so stupid, Kirishima thought. How had he not seen it sooner, his stories never matched up, and if Kirishima had looked into it further instead of trusting what Bakugo said, he would've realized it was all to methodical to be an "accident". Maybe, instead of just assuming he was alright after the League of Villans accident, he should've asked. Maybe if he had, they wouldn't be in this situation, maybe if he had

"We're here." The young women that had lead Kirishima into the ambulance had placed a hand on his shoulder and was smiling at him

"Where?" Was all he managed to say

"They already took him inside. You can wait in the waiting room and maybe contact his mom or dad." Kirishima got up and fell out of the ambulance, great, his legs had fallen asleep. Shara helped Kirishima walk into the waiting room where he ran into Inko Midoryia.

"Inko," Kirishima said waving to her, "its me, Kirishima." She smiled and waved back, slowly walking in his direction, "you wouldn't happen to have Mitsuki Bakugo’s number by any chance, would you?"

"Of course," Inko grabbed a piece of paper and pen from her bag and wrote down Mitsuki number, "why are you here, if you don't mind me asking." Inko was a small women and the stress of taking care of a ticking time bomb really showed. She looked sad and tired

"Would it be okay if i talked to Deku after i make this phons call?" Kirishima tried to hide the rising panic in his voice by smiling and whispering, but ultimately failed.

"Sure," she said placing a hand on his shoulder, "is everything alright?" All Kirishima could donwas nod, he was terrified to make this phone call, "okay, I'll be right here if you need something."

Kirishima walked outside, took a breath and dialed the number

"Um, hi. Is this Mitsuki Bakugo?"
