Montana Angst

Montana usually keeps to himself or hangs out with the other Western states. He's currently wrapped in a towel and having a hard time breathing due to recent flooding. It feels like he's constantly underwater and drowning. He's reached out to the other Western states and Gov. but no has helped or even checked on him.

Montana has had a bit of flooding but nothing too serious. Well that's what Montana thought until he feels getting sucked under water when his room in fine.

Montana gets off his bed but just collapses to the floor not being able to stand. He tries breathing but it feels like water is flowing into his throat instead of air. It feels like water is filling his lungs as Montana tries to breath. Montana starts coughing to try to get the water out of his body but it just made it worse.

Montana starts feeling light headed. He tries to stand but it feels like waves are crashing down on him, not letting him up. Montana tries speaking or yelling or anything to get anyone's attention from the hall but it's no use when your lungs are full of water. Montana tries to take one last breath but everything goes black.

When Montana wakes up he's wrapped in towels and has an air mask over his mouth and nose. He's sitting in the corner of his room. He takes a few deep breaths. He's never missed air so much. He looks around. His room looked bad. Almost everything was soaked including California bringing in more towels. "Oh! Thank god you're alright!" California says as he hands Montana a couple more towels.

California has a towel wrapped around himself. "What's going on?" Montana asked confused. "Well I had some slight flooding problems so I decided to check up on everyone and I found you unconscious in here. Your state had a really bad flood due to a storm." California explains. "Most of the West and some of the South had some flooding but you and Oregon seemed to get the worst of it." California continues.

Montana thinks back to that feeling of being trapped underwater with no air. He could have died and no one came to help but California. He didn't even like California. He talks too much. Montana's mind was whirling with theories about why no one had helped. California says something that Montana doesn't hear and walks out. Montana starts cleaning up his room after calming down.

It took about two weeks for Montana to finally stop being soaking wet at all times. No one even bothered to ask what was wrong or if he was okay. They'd only tell him that he was dripping water on the floor. Anytime he would try to hang out with any of the other Western states they would just tell him to stop getting water all over the place.

The thing that hurt the most was Oregon got all the attention. Everyone was making sure he was okay and were sending him help. But no one did any of that for Montana. Like always, he was overlooked by another state.
