So usually I write about California or Utah cause I project my trauma onto them, but today it's just Georgia being a sleepy peach dad cause I love him.
The states are younger here. Like a year or two before the civil war. Georgia and the other 13 colonies are all young adults less than 30 anyways, Loui is around 8 while Florida, Texas, and California are about 7. And this age system does not make sense I know and I'm sorry.
Warning: This story contains mentions of the civil war, arguing, mentions of abusive parenting.

Georgia loved his own little house in his state. He could have his own space away from the other states. It was nice as more states got added to the union. Well Georgia had his own space at least, until he decided to take care of two of the younger newly added states. A cowboy and a chaos child. Don't get me wrong, Georgia loves those two with all his heart and the others that come with them but they all drove him up a wall.
"Florida! How many times do I have to tell you to not leave your stuff everywhere!" Georgia called down the hall when he saw towels and stuffed animals laying on the hallway floor. Georgia heard a bunch of giggle and running feet.
Georgia sighed and started cleaning. He put the stuffed animals in Florida's room and the towels in the dirty clothes. When he walked out of the hall and tried to walk into the kitchen to start breakfast, he got hit in the face with a pillow. All the kids stopped and stared at the peach state. Georgia looked into the living room.
There was two pillow forts with Florida and Louisiana in one and Texas and California in the other. All the younger states were ready to get yelled at based off their parents behaviors. Georgia sighed knowing of the states' shitty parents and tossed the pillow onto the couch. He walked into the living room.
"It's okay, you guys aren't in trouble. I'm gonna start making breakfast and I want the living room clean when I'm done, alright?" All of the younger states nodded in response. "Good. And Louisiana make sure you have all your stuff packed, I gotta bring you home in a couple hours."
Georgia walked into the kitchen and started making breakfast, frequently looking into the living room to make sure the kids are okay. Georgia ended up making pancakes. He made a smaller one for California since he has a problem eating, two for Texas cause he loves pancakes, and one for Florida and Louisiana each. He set the pancakes at the small round table along with a fruit bowl and syrup.
"Food's done." Georgia said as the kids came running to the table. They all sat at the seats with their assigned cups. Each cup has designs hand painted on them. Florida had a cup with gators, Louisiana had trumpets, Texas had cacti, and California had Poppy's.
As the kids ate, Georgia drank his coffee thinking about the tension between the North and South. Deep down he knew that soon Texas and California wouldn't be able to see each other any more. He wasn't ready to tell that to Texas and break his tiny little heart.
But as the years went on and the civil war began Texas became more distant and started hanging out with the other Southern states. By the end of the war Texas didn't even talk to Georgia or California anymore. He had moved out of Georgia's house and into his own apartment.
Florida on the other hand got closer to Georgia. Georgia would wake up to Florida crying at his door worrying about Texas and California and all the other states. Florida finally left Georgia's house when he was around 20 years old. He still always found comfort in the older state though.
After a 100 years when the states moved into the statehouse Florida and Texas would constantly remind Georgia of when they were younger. Along with that Texas, Florida, California, and Louisiana all listen to Georgia like he's in charge in of them all still.
For example, Texas and California would be fighting and Florida and Louisiana would be making it worse. If Georgia saw he would just raise his eye-brow while putting down his coffee and all four states would apologize. No one knows why but those five.
Georgia has a secret as well when it comes to those four states that even they don't know. In a shoebox under his bed, Georgia has all of the old cups the states used when they were younger. Those are his most prized possessions.
