Karma was the best thing that could happen to me. I'm not talking just about my friend, but the karma itself. I didn't believe in it before, but after two weeks of hard work I realized that maybe there is this powerful spirit that controls everything around us.
I tried to fight for Quinn, but Karma and other girls told me that I should give up and let it go. Even though I agreed with them and promised to forget I couldn't stop thinking about him. We were best friends for many years and I couldn't forget him in one week.
That's why it took two weeks.
Karma and I started walking to some yoga classes that were in the sports center at the edge of the city. It was quiet there, but also people that lived around there didn't seem to be happy with their lives. Uncleaned streets, poor town houses and subspecies stores made me worried how Karma found this place.
I knew her too well to know that she wouldn't hang out around those kind of people, but then I thought about Quinn and how I believed he would never be associated with Walls and his zombies. But Karma was different. She was organized, responsible and more mature than my old friend.
For the past two weeks I didn't see him much, but I tried to not worry too much. I agreed to join Karma and try some yoga with her which helped me forget about the whole thing, but just for an hour. After the meditation all worries would come back like a tsunami.
"Are you sure you feel better?" Karma asked me one day after we got out from the sports center.
I gave her a little smile. "Don't worry about me. I feel much better after each class. Can't wait for tomorrow."
Karma wasn't a fool and she could see I was lying. It's not I didn't enjoy spending time with her and over ten senior ladies. Like I said before, Quinn was still stuck in my head and even yoga couldn't help me.I noticed that my half-Indian friend was about to say something when suddenly something, or maybe someone, caught her attention. She looked behind my arm with her eyes wide open and her lips were spread apart.
"Is that Quinn?"
Hearing his name I immediately turned around. It didn't take me a long time to see him and two girls from his table getting out from some black cab and going towards a comic store. All three of them were wearing black jeans and black leather jackets with a phoenix on a back. Above the bird of fire there was a name of maybe some band that I never heard of before.
Rome.
I watched them disappear in the store and the first thing that came up to my mind was to go after them. I knew something was fishy because Quinn never liked comic books or superheros. He only watched some movies just because the actors were hot and he enjoyed seeing them in tight suits.
