Happy Easter! <3

Quinn and Angel went back to the city to see Nathan. Mike and I stayed at the lake house, while others also left. We spent those days mostly in silence and yet it felt like we had everything planed out.
After my leg heals I'm immediately going back to racing. We will go back to life we know and had before Quinn joined Phoenix and pulled Angel into this. We might see them from time to time, but as long we all are safe, I will not speak to them.
Simple plan, wasn't it? Ignoring people didn't seem difficult, especially that I've done it with my grandfather.
That stupid old man must have told Angel something she shouldn't know. Grandpa knows too much and although he doesn't like to talk about his past I knew Nathan could make him speak. In a diplomatic way, of course.
I imagined in my head how Angel's life could look like with Nathan. He had money, power, positive reputation in the public forum. He was unpredictable and childish, but he could take care of a girl. Yes, he could protect Angel. Only that matters.
"Jerome" Mike whispered to me, when we finally stood in front of the door to our apartment. We could see lights were on and hear footsteps. Tigers? Or maybe Clara and Thomas? No, the twins would tell us they would be waiting for us here. It wouldn't be a huge problem for them to break in.
Mike took out a gun from his jacket and while pointing it at the door. He moved towards it slowly, until he was close enough to kick it. Door opened and Mike's cold gun was right in front of Angel's forehead.
Her eyes opened widely, she stopped moving. I was wondering if she even stopped breathing for a moment, surprised by Mike's little attack. My friend sighed and put away the weapon back to his jacket.
"The fuck are you doing here?" he asked, clearly annoyed.
"I live here, obviously. Where have you been for the past several months?"
Live? She's staying?
I dropped a sports bag I was holding. I stared at her, couldn't believing she was actually here. She was trying to not look at me, but at some point she quickly glanced at me and my leg. It was now in a plastic boot, keeping it straight.
"Whatever" Mike passed Angel, walking towards his room like nothing ever happened. In that moment, I thought he just simply hated Angel and didn't want to be around her, but now I think he did it on purpose. Maybe he gave me a chance to talk to Angel. Maybe...
No, I made a promise and I won't break it.
And she didn't challenge me. She turned around and walked to her (and once mine) room, closing the door behind her, without looking back.
It looks like it will be harder to avoid her than I thought.
