"Cupcake, let's go!" his voice echoed in my head. I opened my eyes and looked at Jerome, a little confused. He raised his eyebrow, staring at me like he just saw the weirdest  thing in his world. Maybe I could be awkward sometimes, but I wasn't odd!

He lightly pushed me towards the stairs, where Gab and the older guy disappeared. I could still hear a loud club-like music downstairs, which I found pretty odd. But I still decided to take my first steps towards the other end of the stair, with Jerome right behind me.

As we were going down it was becoming darker and darker, until I could see only shapes of people's bodies. The neon lights by the bar and DJ were the only reason why I could still see anything, really. It was also lighter by the tables where people sat, checking their phones.

Like I thought, it was like a pub or club. The DJ, lots of tables (all full of people) and the actual bar. There were also few door at the other end of the room, which probably led to bathrooms. Or to another mysterious place.

Who would think that such a place could be under a simple comic book store?

Now I knew how Quinn "disappeared" that day. He simply walked behind Gab and went downstairs, where he ended here. He was here before, probably many times, and maybe he was there now. I wanted to look for him, but I knew it was a stupid move. I didn't know this place, I didn't know these people and as long as I was there I had a bad feeling about this entire situation.

I felt someone's hand on my back. I looked at Jerome, who now was standing next to me. He moved towards the other end of the room towards one of the doors with his hand on my back, forcing me to be by his side the entire time. His touch was also comforting. I knew people were watching us. I couldn't see their faces, but I could feel their eyes on us. Knowing that Jerome was with me I felt much more safe than if I was here alone.

Well, if I were alone I wouldn't find this place.

Suddenly, a shadow jumped in front of us, blocking our way.

"Oh, Romeo! Where have you been?" the shadow spoke with its high tone voice and I realized that it was a girl. Or maybe I should say a woman. She came closer and I saw her face. Her big smile probably would blind me if there was a stronger light reflecting from her teeth. Her green eyes worked perfectly with her dark-red hair. She was tall, so much taller than I am, but only in high heels she could be the same height as Jerome. Or maybe I should say... Romeo.

"Hey, Natasha. Sorry, we are in a little hurry, so maybe you could-"

"Who's this?" Natasha turned her venom eyes at me, playing with my soul with just one look. She was pretty, I had to admit that. Her long, wavy hair perfectly showed off her pale skin. She looked like a doll. A hunted doll. A Devil's doll. Actually, she looked like a Devil himself.

Jerome didn't answer. Maybe he expected me to present myself, but I also didn't say a word.

"Let's go, Cupcake" Jerome whispered and surprisingly I could hear it over all this music and noise. I looked away from Natasha just a second after her smile disappeared and I was sure her look almost killed me.

Oh, dear God, what am I doing here? I can die here!

There were few more people who called Jerome's name (some also called him Rome) as we were passing by their table. The lack of lighting in that place made everything more scary and unknown. I instinctively moved closer to Jerome. I could feel his arms moved as he giggled.

Hilarious, Mr. Walls.

Finally, we were at one of the doors. Jerome opened of them and let me go first. I entered another dark room, but it was much smaller than the club/bar itself. There was a little desk lamp, thanks to which I could see the older man and Gab. I could hear Jerome walking after me and closing the door behind us. I could still hear the music, but it wasn't so distracting like before. I could easily ignore what was happening on the other side of the wall.
