Winter in Montreal is so beautiful and full of joy. The brilliant rays of the snowflakes that were so white and glistening. Literally my favourite season. From my room I could feel the frozen air on my skin. I badly wanted to go out and play with my mates but momma didn't like the idea.

It was getting boring and I was  tired of playing video games over and over again  and the fact that the noise from outside distracted me I thought of moving closer to my window.
The white clouds lingering in the dark sky and snow all over. The first 20 minutes those were the two things that I couldn't take my eyes off untill they landed on her.

She was a dream. Everything about her was beautiful, starting from her dressing code and the one thing that caught my eyes was her grey mavin hat that revealed her soft blonde curly hair which were being blown softly by the wind .

Standing still, her eyes following the falling snows and at the same time watching the children play. Her  smile was one of happiness thing that I've ever seen.  I could see how it came from deep inside to light her eyes.

She seemed my age mate..12 years to be precise.

One minute I looked away and the next I saw her holding the ice skating rink.

Happiness streaked through me,

"She wants to-"  and before I could finish the sentence she got on it .

Contentment filled my  heart I loved ice skating and seeing her play stole my heart. I was somehow scared for her because it was really slippery but she seemed to have been use to it.
Many other kids our age were doing the same. She was slow and kept pace at what she felt was comfortable

It was getting dark and late. I had to finish up with my homework and get to  bed so I went on to do that.
Very early in the morning I woke up and got ready for school. I loved school but part of me didn't like it because of the fact that am an introvert. I found it hard interacting with people but I didn't have any other choice so I had to deal with it.

The moment I got to school the very first person I set my eyes on was her.
I couldn't stop staring and smiling. Yeah she seemed bubbly and upbeat and there was something about our personalities that just clicked.

"My name is Mia" she introduced herself

"I'm Liam " I said

We got to know each other, and also I introduced her to few of my friends that I had interacted with.

Not long enough she was part of our family.  We would play together and I'd go over at their house almost every weekend. After graduating high school, Mia and I moved on to college in different cities and I remember being so sad that we would drift apart.
People would tell us how normal it was to forget your friend and that we would start all over again in college and meet new people.  It was totally heart wrenching for both of us and we couldn’t imagine how we would stay close when we were thousands of miles away.

But here we are, 8 years later and we are still best friends and still strong together.

Yeah we've both had our misunderstandings plenty of times but nothing or no one has power over our friendship.
We've been there for each other through thick and thin and our childhood memories are in a one big photo album. We keep it close to us and laugh our hearts out whenever we go through them.
